A village boy named Kairat arrives in Almaty with the goal of enrolling in a university, but the initiative turns out to be a failure and his friend has to limit himself to the role of a bus driver living in a hostel. The subsequent action consists of random sketches from the life of a failed student in an unfamiliar city. The film was shot in black and white and has a running time of approximately one hour. Actually there is nothing more to add to what has been said. The plot of the story as a whole is as old as the hills, but what makes the film itself notable is its various small details and atmosphere that reflect the spirit of that time.
