The 1990 adaption is almost a line-for-line adaption of Stevenson's book, and is widely considered the best film/TV adaption of Treasure Island ever made. There are a few tiny changes, such as Jim getting his trademark flintlock pistol from Bones' sea chest, rather than his cowardly neighbors, but overall, if you're looking for a movie version of Treasure Island that is true to the book, you won't go wrong here.
