The house location was also used in two other Linnea Quigley projects: Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (1988) and Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout (1990). Quigley said the owner somehow got it in her mind that they were stealing things from her house while shooting Murder Weapon. After two days of shooting, Quigley said they had to sneak out the equipment because she was so crazy.
Around the one hour mark, the guys sitting on the couch are watching Nightmare Sisters (1988) on TV, which they make fun of. It also stars Linnea Quigley and is created by David DeCoteau.
Although Linnea Quigley prefers to avoid appearing in slasher movies due to a distaste for realistic violence, she both starred in and produced this film. The reason behind her decision was that the men were the victims in this particular film, which implied she had no issue with realistic violence, just realistic violence against women.
