Someone's been digging up the dirt. In this sneak peek from tonight's brand-new episode of The Royals, Jasper (Tom Austen) meets a shady reporter with a suspicious agenda. "I'm a journalist, Mr. Frost," she tells him. "I'm working on a story about Her Royal Highness Princess Eleanor and the relationship she's having with her bodyguard. Care to comment?" Jasper scoffs. "You think writing a story about the princess and her relationship is groundbreaking?" he asks. "Good luck with that." However, the nosy reporter doesn't back down that easily. "I think it's groundbreaking if her bodyguard is secretly American, tried to steal the...

"I don't even know how to describe the damn thing," says director David Ayer, just after wrapping post-production on Suicide Squad, his star-packed, supervillain-centric, DC Comics-based probable blockbuster, hitting theaters on August 5th. "It's not like anything else. And it's not trying to be like anything else." In an interview for our Jared Leto cover story, Ayer discussed creating a new Joker with Leto, as well as the broader goals behind Suicide Squad, which also stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie, among many others.

There's a lot to unpack in this week's news that, 25 years after its demise, the groundbreaking dreamscape of "Twin Peaks" will be returning in 2016 as a nine-episode mini-series on Showtime. In this one news nugget, there's so many conclusions to be drawn about how much TV has changed in the last quarter century, what the medium is like now, and what viewers can and do expect from TV dramas these days. So pour yourself some damn fine coffee, dig into a slice of pie, and read on.
1. The medium to which the series is returning is one that "Twin Peaks" itself profoundly changed. For viewers too young to remember, it's hard to convey just how weird and wonderful "Twin Peaks" seemed when it appeared on network TV in 1990. On the surface, it seemed a pop-savvy blend of some favorite genres (murder mystery, nighttime soap, 1950s-style teen melodrama), but it unfurled...

Now available to watch via various Video On Demand platforms, and coming to DVD next week (July 29), Cuban Fury stars Nick Frost in the tale of a man who learns how to dance the salsa so he can woo his new boss, Rashida Jones. But the two clips we have to share today do not feature Rashida Jones, who is the radiant love of my fantasies a very lovely woman. No, we have strictly manly men in these clips, specifically Nick Frost and Chris O'Dowd, the latter of whom looks to be an evil nemesis. In the first clip, O'Dowd boasts about his date with the aforementioned boss, while Frost seethes. Then, in the second clip, it looks like Mr. Frost has taken his salsa...

Nick Frost is one of the nicest guys working in film. I.ve been a fan since the very first time I witnessed him in the fantastic Shaun Of The Dead and continue to enjoy his work alongside Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. With his terrific work in The World.S End, it has been nice to see Mr. Frost grow as an actor, and to be honest, it is a bit shocking to see him not only fighting on-screen, but dancing as well. In his latest film Cuban Fury, he shares some serious screen time with the lovely...

David Frost, veteran British broadcaster, has died. The man - who was known for his brilliant access to politicians and stars - was 74 years old. Mr. Frost landed a rare interview with U.S. president Richard Nixon, which was the basis for the film "Frost/Nixon" His death was reported by the BBC, which aired many of his shows, and by Al Jazeera English, where he also worked. The BBC published a statement from Frost's family asking for privacy "at this difficult time." The family said Frost spent Saturday evening giving a speech on a cruise ship, where he suffered a heart attack. He's survived by his wife of 30 years and three children. "My heart goes out to David...

What do Left Behind, Little Nicky, Mister Frost, and Hellboy all have in common? They all feature the devil in either a starring or cameo role. Satan or Lucifer has long been a fascinating figure ever since John Milton’s Paradise Lost immortalized him. Not surprising in a bit of homage Al Pacino as Satan in The Devil’s Advocate call himself “John Milton.” But treatments of the devil have varied greatly. In The Devil Rides Out (1968), Christopher Lee faces off against a Satan cult but Satan himself only appears for a few brief moments.
Tim Curry’s devil in Legend, on the other hand, takes center stage in perhaps the wildest interpretation yet with his devil sporting huge cloven hooves and horns. But in the 1990s, the devil became more and more cynical and laid back. Gabriel Byrne in the End of Days plays him as a normal man...

He (or she?) is known by many names – The Devil, Satan, Mephistopheles (which is sometimes used as the name of Satan and sometimes as just a chief devil such as in the Faust legend), Mr. Scratch, and Lucifer to name a few. Whether he’s referred to by these more common names or by a more obscure name, Satan has appeared in 900 different films and television shows (according to IMDb.com) to date.
Satan obviously represents the archetypal image of evil. No other specific character is so infused in our psyche as Satan, and consequently no other specific character is represented in film with more regularity. Often portrayed in his “normal” persona of a purely evil antagonist, Mephisto has had many notably unusual appearances as well.
With the first of my October articles in honor of Halloween, here are 20 weird and wonderful appearances as the Devil in movies and television.

Working Title Films and Big Talk Productions have started shooting The World’s End, the third installment in Edgar Wright‘s trilogy of comedies, following the successes Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007).
As with the two earlier pictures, Wright co-wrote the script with Simon Pegg, who will once again star alongside Nick Frost and recently announced Rosamund Pike and Paddy Considine, and now the team widens with actors Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan joining.
In The World’s End, 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. Oh glorious day! Edgar Wright along with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are back together to wrap up their Blood and Ice Cream trilogy, with The World's End. If you've been anxiously awaiting them to get back together for this final movie (as I have) then today's a good day as the announcement has come in that filming has officially begun.
Apparently Martin Freeman and Ediie Marsan have also joined the cast, so that's not bad news either. I couldn't be more pleased. Edgar Wright has quickly become one of my favorite working directors, and I'm keenly interested in just about anything he does. Shaun of the Dead remains one of my favorite films and nary a week goes by that Scott Pilgrim isn't in my blu-ray player at some point. Call me obsessed, I just don't care.
Anyway, here's the official press release about the start of production:

Anyone who has seen Pacific Heights or Desperate Measures knows that Michael Keaton does a really great turn as the villain. The films themslves might not have been that great but he certainly elevated the material, showing that Batman and Mr. Frost could do some evil things if he was asked to... and have a lot of fun with it. Which is why it's so exciting to hear that he'll be dabbling in his darker side once again in Penthouse North, playing a thug who's trying to rob a blind woman. The...

If it weren't for the English accent there'd've been times during the motion picture Paul where I might hadve thought I was watching a mirror.
The Xxl science fiction fanatic known as Clive Gollings is a nerdtastic character for the ages - and one that won't be too difficult for most Comic-Con attendes to dress up as.
I had the good fortune to speak to Mr. Frost on the horn the other day - here's what went down.
Jordan Hoffman: The last time I saw you we were eating BBQ at South by Southwest together.
Nick Frost: I’m doing exactly the same thing again! I’ve gotten them to install a branch of Salt Lick in my own backyard. We have precious little good BBQ here. Or Mexican food, even.
Jordan Hoffman: Well, there's hardly any fish & chips in newspaper here in NYC. But that's mostly because we use plates!

Although "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" didn't set the box office on fire with its unique blend of action and romance, another comic inspired film with a more traditional romance story may have better luck.
Sony Classics has released the trailer for Stephen Frears' live-action adaptation of Posy Simmond's "Tamara Drewe." Frears' involvement with the project was announced almost a year ago. Prior to signing on to the film, Frears had established a strong reputation based on his previous movies including "The Grifters," "Hero," "Dangerous Liaisons," "High Fidelity" and "The Queen."
"Tamara Drewe" stars Gemma Arterton as a young journalist who returns to her home town in the English countryside and reinvents herself as a femme fatale. Arterton is perhaps best known for her role as Strawberry Fields in the most recent James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace." Earlier this year, she also starred in the "Clash of the Titans" remake,...

Get ready Jeff Goldblum fans - tonight at 10:00 Pm on USA Network you can catch him on the Season 9 premiere of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
We were lucky enough to participate in an interview with “The Fly” star this week and, as always, he did not disappoint. Sure he talked about the new season and all the controversial series changes. But he also covered those internet death rumors, his favorite hobby (he’s a jazz pianist), some of his movie roles, and our personal favorite Goldblum career highlight, Tenspeed and Brownshoe.
Read what Goldblum had to say and watch our red carpet interview with Goldblum at last summer’s Oceana event where he talked about bee keeping and curling. Here are some of our random thoughts of Jeff Goldblum.
Q: How was it being dead? And, how was it giving your own eulogy on the Colbert Report?
Jeff: Those are great questions.

It's time for another edition of The Art Of Horror, and today we're featuring an amazing sculptor/special effects artist from the UK, the massively talented Ian Frost...
According to Ian, he first became interested in special effects "after watching too many cheesy horror movies back in the 80s." After discovering Fangoria magazine, which featured articles showcasing the stellar F/X in the flicks he loved and some "how to's" on the effects themselves, he was completely hooked.
Then Fango unleashed Gorezone, which contained even more make-up instructions, and soon Mr. Frost began experimenting with F/X and doing makeups on himself and other willing participants.
He "fell out of the loop at eighteen, got married (far more horrifying than any movie) and had kids, and while friends went on to do well in the biz, I ended up in a 'normal' day job."
A few years later Ian divorced,...

Hello once again, and welcome back to Bard's Eye View, and believe you me, no one is happier to be returning to this little Podunk column than I am. I'm not going to get all maudlin about my recent brush with death, even though it's both a sobering and amusing thought to think of myself as a lumbering, shuffling, newly-risen Shaun of the Dead-style zombie, trying to sate my need for fresh brains while Mr. Pegg and Mr. Frost hurl their CD collection at my head. Still, thanks to all the Fantaverse for your well-wishes, I'll never forget it. (Weak grin.)...
