A Weird and Confused Low Budget Movie
claudio_carvalho9 April 2004
During a storm, a gargoyle falls off a church over a priest, killing him. On the next day, the scientist Vladimir Spratz (Ron Lea) finds a piece of the gargoyle and brings it to his laboratory. Meanwhile, the sexton of the church (Tom Rack) looks for the scientist's girlfriend, the artist Flora (Catherine Colvey), asking her to restore the broken piece. Vladimir makes a genetic discover based on a piece of the gargoyle, and many persons begin to die in the city. Are the events connected?

"Cursed" (1990) is a low-budget movie very weird and has a confused screenplay. There are some interesting parts, the pronunciation of the cast is very clear, but something is missing to say that it is a good movie. Anyway, it had the quality of keeping the viewer hooked on the screen until the last disappointing scene. My vote is five.

Title (Brazil): 'O Poder Das Trevas' ('The Power of the Darkness')

Note: On 30 May 2022, I saw this film again.
