How far would you go to save the life of a loved one? That’s the question facing Matt at the start of Bag of Lies. His wife Claire has terminal cancer and has decided to stop subjecting herself to the brutal effects of chemo, which was simply delaying the inevitable. He on the other hand can’t deal with the idea of her death.
In desperation, he makes a deal with Al who possesses what he claims is a magic bag that can save her. All it takes is a simple ritual, wait three days and then follow three simple rules afterwards. Don’t talk to it. Don’t look at it. Don’t touch it. Seems simple enough, right? So did “don’t feed it...

Diiv have announced a new album, Frog in Boiling Water, due out May 24th via Fantasy Records. Today, the band has shared the project’s lead single, “Brown Paper Bag.”
Frog in Boiling Water arrives as the band’s third album and follows their 2019 effort Deceiver. Boasting production from Chris Coady, the album takes its name from Daniel Quinn’s The Story of B and fittingly explores themes of gradual collapse, according to the press release.
“If you drop a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will of course frantically try to clamber out,” the band explained. “But if you place it gently in a pot of tepid water and turn the heat on low, the frog will sink into a tranquil stupor, exactly like one of us in a hot bath, and before long, with a smile on its face, it will unresistingly allow itself to be boiled to death.

For four days only, Phish will be performing at the Sphere in Las Vegas this year.
This is the first time Phish performs for their fans at the Sphere and what makes these four shows even more special is that each show will have a different setlist and visuals.
Though they will only be in Las Vegas for a limited time, later this summer, the 80s rock band will be in Delaware for Mondegreen, another four-day set of concerts.
Hailing from Burlington, Vermont, Phish banded together in 1983. Guitarist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, drummer Jon Fishman and keyboardist Page McConnell make up the Grammy-nominated band.
The band’s popularity rose in the mid-90s but suffered two disbandments in the early 2000s. However, in 2008, the band reconciled and has been performing together ever since.

Stars: Ulrich Mühe, Susanne Lothar, Stefan Clapczynski, Arno Frisch, Frank Giering | Written and Directed by Michael Haneke
An innocuous sight opens this feature from writer/director Michael Haneke, as a car travels while containing the Schober family – made up of husband Georg (Ulrich Mühe), wife Anna (Susanne Lothar), young son Georgie (Stefan Clapczynski), and dog Rolfi. They pass the journey to their holiday home with a song guessing game, until one song stumps Georg. Much like the classical music playing on the car speakers, the film’s sound is then drowned out by hard rock, an effective indication of how any expectations of an arthouse feature is changed to something more hardcore.
While unpacking, the family are visited by two young men – Paul (Arno Frisch) and Peter (Frank Giering) – who ask to borrow eggs. The pair overstay their welcome as Peter clumsily breaks numerous batches of eggs and knocks the family’s phone into water,...

When the Latin Grammys announced its nominees last week, the corridos tumbados of Rancho Humilde’s top acts were notably missing from its list. Not a single project from the likes of Fuerza Régida, Natanael Cano, or Junior H made the cut.
On Monday, Jimmy Humilde — the head of Rancho Humilde and an early champion for the urban-leaning música Mexicana subgenre — lashed out against the Latin Recording Academy for snubbing his label’s acts, describing the leaders of the Academy as out of touch with the culture and music.

Spoiler alert: This article breaks down the plot and characters in “They Cloned Tyrone.”
John Boyega got his first opportunity to play multiple roles in one project with “They Cloned Tyrone,” a moment the British actor says had him in his “Eddie Murphy bag.”
“They Cloned Tyrone,” co-written by Juel Taylor and his writing partner Tony Rettenmaier, was the first time Taylor got to sit in the director’s chair for a feature film. The movie also provided Boyega with a career first of his own: the opportunity to play different characters in a sole project.
“It was fun, [I ] obviously approached all of them as individuals, and just made sure you’re consistently speaking to your director, so you don’t get them twisted,” Boyega said, whose character in film, Fontaine, has been cloned several times by the government.

The producers of CNBC’s “The Profit” have beaten a $30 million arbitration lawsuit filed by the trustee of a bankrupt contestant that appeared on the show in 2015.
Last year, Lynn E. Feldman, Esquire, the Chapter 7 trustee for the estate of Pennsylvania design company Precise Graphix, LLC, sued NBCUniversal, Camping World Inc., a vehicle retailer partially owned by Marcus Lemonis, and the production company Machete for $30 million in damages, alleging that the show committed fraud and breach of contract that led to the company’s bankruptcy in 2021.
In May, an arbitrator dismissed those claims, finding that they were “unsupported by competent, credible evidence.”
“Given the complete failure of competent, credible evidence supporting her allegations at the hearing, the Trustee cannot establish the required elements of the fourteen causes of action alleged in the Demand,” arbitrator Ann Jones wrote in the ruling revealed in bankruptcy court documents on Wednesday. “Even if one...

Vineyard Theatre, an off-Broadway venue best known for highlighting provocative new works that are often from emerging writers, has unveiled its 2018 to 2019 season. The non-profit’s slate is comprised entirely of works from playwrights under the age of 40 and will be directed solely by women.
The shows include the New York premiere of Ngozi Anyanwu’s “Good Grief,” a coming-of-age story about a Nigerian-American girl; the world premiere of “Daddy,” an erotic drama with Tony winner Alan Cumming; and “Do You Feel Anger?,” a dark comedy about an empathy coach working at a debt collection agency.
“Good Grief” will open the season this fall. In winter 2019, The Vineyard and The New Group will co-produce “Daddy.” The final production of the season in spring 2019 will be “Do You Feel Anger?” “Good Grief” is being presented in association with Audible, which will record the production and present it as an audio play.

Now this is more like it! One of Full Moon’s lesser-known movies, Shadowzone originally debuted in 1990, just after Puppet Master exploded on to the scene. It is also the second of three Full Moon Productions (the company name was later changed to Full Moon Entertainment) that were lensed between 1989 and 1991 – the others being Puppet Master and Meridian, both of which have already had the DVD, and in Puppet Master‘s case, Blu-ray, treatment from 88 Films.
Shadowzone sees a group of Nasa hyper-sleep researchers conducting tests in an abandoned underground facility in the Nevada desert. When one subject dies during the test, Nasa sends in Captain Hickock (Beecroft) to investigate. and what he finds is more horrific than the death itself. The scientists,...

As with all good things, however, there s an inevitable downside; and a bunch of good-looking and horny youngsters, invited to Dr Po’s island under the premise of an audition , are about to find out the hard way. When the vineyard starts to give up its dark secrets, these doomed teens will have to contend not only with Dr. Po and his kung-fu fighting henchmen but also with a rotting gang of marauding zombies.
The Vineyard is yet another in the long line of luridly-covered VHS tapes that I rented as a teenager in the early 90s. You see we had a Vcr...
