A So-So Remake Of A Very Good Film
crossbow010626 July 2009
I am marginally giving this film a thumbs down, as it is a remake of sorts of a film I am very fond of "Our Sister Hedy". In this film, more as an interesting twist than anything else, Jeanette Lin, who played the youthful but lovable Hedy, plays the mother in this role. She was still pretty but she has unfortunately since passed on. There is no denying the beauty of all four ladies in this film, Nina Li, Carina Lau, Pauline Wong and Elizabeth Lee. I think there is a good story for them, but this film relative to Hedy falls flat. It doesn't help that only two are actually sisters. The male characters are one dimensional womanizers, which is fine but there characters are also tiresome. What I suggest you do is watch "Our Sister Hedy" (I'd like to see the sequel "Wedding Bells For Hedy" but I am not sure it is available). "Our Sister Hedy" is far more entertaining and heartfelt. Despite the beauty and talent of the actresses, this film does not move me enough to recommend it.

Low-key and mediocre Chinese romance comedy.
OllieSuave-00713 September 2017
This is a low-key comedy romance from Hong Kong that stars Pauline Wong, Nina Li, Carina Lau and Crystal Kwok as four daughters. This is supposedly a remake of a classic film that had more substance and entertaining value.

The plot was actually pretty mediocre in this film, not much to write home about. There are some amusing moments with the A-list actors, namely with Nina Li playing the tough girl. But, I've seen better comedy romance films from Hong Kong than this.
