The screenplay for Do the Right Thing was written by director and producer Spike Lee, who also appears as an actor.
Both people were killed in New York City by policemen. Unlike Michael Stewart, however, Radio Raheem was not a graffiti artist.
"Spike Lees Do the Right Thing engages in multiple forms of narrative subversion, as do most of his pictures. The credits, for example, accompany Rosie Perez as she dances combatively, complete with boxing gloves in some scenes, to the strains of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power"." Read more here.
