Sensitivity
Anthony Spinelli brings sensitivity and encourages solid acting in this simple story of a family. It may be porn, but bears the fruit of a serious approach.
Scott Irish is the prodigal son returning home for Spring Break from his studies at Brown University. His dad Mike Horner is proud of him and so is mom Ona Zee. First sex scene of his parents in bed features Scott's hometown friend Marc Wallice peeping at the bedroom door, infatuated with MILF Ona.
Usually I would be quite annoyed with Wallice's acting, especially since he's cast as a dunderhead who's strictly a bad influence on Scott. At times he seems to be auditioning for a porno version of Henry Winkler's Fonzie character, but Spinelli, directing from a script by his son Mitch, shows a sad side of the character, too, as beneath his bravado Wallice laments how, unlike his buddy, he never achieved anything in school and has a bleak future ahead of him.
We watch Marc force himself sexually on ex-girlfriend Cheri Taylor, followed by Scott being suddenly seduced by Cheri's roommate Sharon Kane -the porn vet creating an interesting, assertive character in a minimum of screen time.
Movie climaxes dramatically with both parents proving unfaithful, Horner with sympathetic prostitute Nina Hartley and Ona predictably with Wallice.
Several years earlier Hartley and Horner co-starred in a different movie titled "Adultery", directed by Henri Pachard.
