Chucky season 3 just aired its finale last night – but when it comes to genre icons like Chucky, horror fans usually start asking “When is the next sequel coming?” as soon as they finish watching the most recent one… or in this case, they’re asking, “When is the next season coming?” or “Is there going to be another season at all?” Series creator Don Mancini recently said that he has already pitched the idea of Chucky season 4, but it hasn’t been officially ordered yet. But if fans want to show their support for the idea of the show being renewed, there is a way they can let the higher-ups know they want to see Chucky season 4. That came in the final moments of the finale, when Chucky took a moment to announce that he’s running for “a fourth consecutive term” and donations can be made by calling 1-...

Ivanna Sakhno is said to have a “major role” in the upcoming sequel.

Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are back for the sequel, with Akela Cooper (Malignant, M3GAN) once again writing the script and James Wan on board to produce.
Spoiler Warning: M3GAN ends with the titular doll being destroyed, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Child’s Play franchise it’s that killer dolls can never truly be killed!
M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out’s Allison Williams), M3GAN can...

If you were a kid growing up in the ’80s, one thing was true. Video games were the spawn of Satan. Okay, we know that isn’t true. But our parents? Adults were terrified of your Atari and your Nintendo, and filmmakers made all sorts of movies that painted games in a negative light. In Wargames a nuclear war was damn near started! While there were plenty of films that understood the imagination and the creative spirit that video games could foster, such as Tron and The Last Starfighter for examples, there’s also a film such as Cloak & Dagger, which goes to some really dark territory to teach a lesson to kids that, honestly, everyone could stand to learn.
Cloak and Dagger starred Henry Thomas. Y’know, the E.T. kid (who we recently profiled on Wtf Happened to this Celeb), who grew up to become the Suicide...

JoBlo.com recently launched a new weekly documentary series called 80s Horror Memories, where each year of the 1980s has five episodes dedicated to it. Looking back at 1980, we discussed Maniac, Dressed to Kill, Alligator, Friday the 13th, The Shining, Prom Night, and The Fog. The second five episodes were a journey through 1981, covering The Funhouse, The Burning, Friday the 13th Part 2, My Bloody Valentine, Halloween II, The Evil Dead, The Howling, and An American Werewolf in London, as well as the careers of horror hosts Elvira and Joe Bob Briggs. The next five were, of course, all about movies that came out in 1982: Conan the Barbarian, The Thing, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and Poltergeist, with an examination of the short-lived 3-D boom along the way. For 1983, we talked about a trio of Stephen King adaptations, Jaws 3-D, Sleepaway Camp, the rise of TV horror anthologies, and Psycho II.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Chucky” Season 3: Episode 6 & Episode 7.
Chucky’s greatest fear, dating all the way back to his introduction in 1988’s Child’s Play, has been death. The serial killer transferred his soul, via voodoo, to a Good Guy doll to avoid it. This week’s brand new seventh episode of “Chucky” Season 3, “There Will Be Blood,” saw the ghost of Charles Lee Ray confront his greatest fear and meet his maker, Damballa. It also brought Chucky voice actor Brad Dourif back to the screen in a shocking turn of events.
Episode 6 saw Chucky commit to going down in a blaze of glory by using the saved eyeball he gouged from President James Collins (Devon Sawa) to gain access to the nuclear missiles. It created an intense standoff in the launch room, with the episode seemingly killing Chucky for good. Except, the White House is home to many restless spirits,...

An electrician, a priest, and the President.
No, that's not the start of a joke. It's just three out of the five characters already played by Devon Sawa on Chucky.
Anyone even slightly familiar with the franchise is already aware of Chucky's constant and imminent return with each installment.
However, the almost meta resurrection of Devon Sawa with each season was an unexpected surprise.
If you've been along for the insane killer doll ride for all three seasons, then you know by now that no adult character, whether main, recurring, or extra, is ever safe in the Chucky universe.
And much like Kenny McCormick from South Park, no adult character is more expected to die than those played by Sawa.
The show stands out with its over-the-top and campy kills in a franchise that centers around a possessed doll with a lust for bloody macabre.

I've always been obsessed with horror. From childhood, when I bunked with my siblings and primas, we told each other spooky stories in the middle of the night to rock ourselves to sleep. Every evening we would take turns telling stories, and the stories seemed to get scarier and scarier. When it was my night to tell a story to the group, I knew I had to bring the best jump scares. I'd find myself spinning stories until my sisters' and primas' bodies would tense up in fear. I knew then that horror stories were something I could weave. There's something about having fear knotted up in your belly; it's like riding a roller coaster and waiting for the thrill of the drop.
Horror has always been a part of my life, so it felt natural for me to work on a book like "The Black Girl Survives in This One.

Since earning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination upon making his film debut in Miloš Forman's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," Brad Dourif has been one of cinema's most distinctive character actors. He was utterly heartbreaking as the painfully shy Billy Bibbit in Forman's film, but thereafter he specialized in more unsettling types. Need someone to play a character who's a little creepy, squirrelly, or just flat-out weird? Dourif will likely be at or near the top of your list.
Onscreen, Dourif is probably best known to most moviegoers as the scheming Grima Wormtongue in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" movies, but he's made, shall we say, quite a killing as the voice of the stab-happy doll Chucky in the "Child's Play" films and, currently, the "Chucky" television series on SyFy and the USA Network.
Like so many great character actors, we've taken Dourif for granted over the years.

Brad Dourif has had an incredible acting career that stretches back more than fifty years – and back in the early days of that career, he even earned a “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” Oscar nomination for his performance in the 1975 classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Over a decade later, he started playing the role he is best known for, that of Charles Lee Ray, a.k.a. Chucky, a serial killer who uses voodoo to transfer his soul into the body of a doll. Dourif is now 74 years old, so when we hear that he has decided to retire from acting, it’s totally understandable… but while talking about his retirement, Dourif has also made sure to assure fans that his days of Chucky are not over. He will still continue to work on any Chucky projects that might come up.

Chucky season 3 had to be split in half due to the writers and actors strikes, with the first four episodes (read our review Here) airing on Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service) back in October. Production resumed at the end of November, and the second half of the season will begin airing on April 10th – so now that we’re closing in on the end of season 3, series creator Don Mancini is, of course, fielding questions about the possibility of a fourth season. During an interview with The Direct, Mancini confirmed that season 4 has already been pitched!
When the subject of season 4 came up, Mancini said, “There’s very little I can say about that. I can’t tell you my idea for Season 4, but I’m really excited about it. I already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because it’s something I really like to do.

When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin comic book started coming out, it was a major hit for Idw Publishing, as well as a major moment in the evolution of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise overall. The comic book was written by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and Tom Waltz, and showed us a dark and grim future in which Michelangelo survived as the only remaining turtle. The story was enormously popular and it seems now that a live-action movie adaptation of the comic book is in the works.
The news comes after last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem proved to be a major hit, and while Mutant Mayhem was an animated feature, it doesn’t seem like The Last Ronin will go in that same direction.

Paramount scored a solid hit last year with the stylish and witty Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and the studio already has a sequel to that one bubbling away in a cauldron of ooze, scheduled to land in 2026. Yet it clearly feels there is room to also revisit the characters in live-action form, and to take the concept in a darker, grittier and altogether more violent direction, setting up an adaptation of popular Idw comics title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin.
Turtles comic co-creator Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz wrote the book based on an older story by Eastman and his co-creator Peter Laird, while the art came courtesy of Esau and Isaac Escorza, Ben Bishop and Eastman.

In the latest of “thing from your childhood turned dark, gritty, and violent” news, a new live-action, R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is in development, as The Hollywood Reporter details.
Adapting the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin storyline, the film is set to be quite a pivot from last year’s successful animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Tyler Burton Smith — co-writer of the upcoming Boy Kills World and 2019’s Child’s Play — is set to helm the script, while Paramount Pictures will oversee.
Despite its cartoony connotation, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has surprising precedent for more adult-oriented stories. The original 1984 series launched as a black and white independent comic and was both inspired by and poking fun at the work of Frank Miller, Chris Claremont, and ’80s Marvel. Subsequent toy deals, televised cartoons, and the 1990s films helped to foster a more child-friendly,...

As horror fans will know, Chucky is one of the most iconic horror characters in history. The nightmarish doll debuted in the 1988 horror flick Child’s Play and has since become a pillar of the horror genre as one of its creepiest creations. Created by Don Mancini, Chucky has since appeared in numerous films and even a television series, which is still ongoing. But, as you might imagine, Chucky is not the only horror doll out there, and it seems that he has received a very frightening competition.
In 2022, Universal released M3GAN, a horror flick about a robotic doll of the same name that becomes self-aware and becomes hostile to anyone who stands in the way of her and her human companion. The movie shows the potential horrors of artificial intelligence, but M3GAN has become a popular horror character almost immediately, and due to the fact that she is also a doll,...

Just when you thought the scariest thing you could have on display in your home as a horror fan was replica dolls of Chucky and Tiffany from the "Child's Play" franchise, Neca, Blumhouse, and Universal have taken things a step further with a life-sized replica of everyone's favorite Sia-singing robot slasher, the titular "M3GAN." According to the doll's lore, the Model 3 Generative Android (M3GAN) was designed by a gifted toy inventor named Gemma (Allison Williams) from high-tech Seattle toy company Funki and crafted to be a parent's greatest ally and programmed to be a child's best friend.
Neca
Alas, despite the plethora of existing science-fiction movies warning us to be careful with highly advanced artificial technology, M3GAN became self-aware and went to extreme lengths to protect her owner and best friend, Cady (Violet McGraw), by any and all means necessary. M3GAN's terror wasn't just her extreme strength,...

The Western is a genre that's mostly gone by the wayside in recent decades, as portraits of straight-shooting American heroes and uncomplicated "bad guys" have become less digestible to the public. While popular neo-Westerns (like "Justified" or the works of Taylor Sheridan) and perspective-changing genre breakdowns have made a splash in recent yers, the genre has mostly died out. Of the relics that remain, few are as prolific and familiar as "Bonanza," a Western series that ran for an impressive 14 seasons on NBC in the '60s and '70s.
As a long-running TV series, "Bonanza" was able to chart the change — or stubborn lack thereof — within the genre and the country, frankly addressing topics like racism and bigotry while also delivering regular laughs and a dash of melodrama to loyal viewers. The series starred Lorne Green as widower Ben Cartwright and Dan Blocker, Pernell Roberts, and Michael Landon as Ben's three sons.

You really can’t keep Chucky down. The murderous doll has been slicin’ and dicin’ for over thirty-five years, and creator Don Mancini revealed that he’s working on another new Chucky movie.
While speaking on the Scream Dreams podcast, Mancini said, “I’m actually in the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie.” In an interview earlier in the week with DJ Suss One, Mancini said that the new project “is designed to work in tandem with the TV show. You know, the ongoing attempt to try to conquer the universe with Chucky.“

Everyone’s favorite killer doll is headed back to the small screen with “Chucky” Season 3: Part 2 on April 10, but are any further movies being planned at this time?
Created by Don Mancini, the “Chucky” television series remarkably plays around with existing elements from all previous films without disregarding Anything from the past. From the original Child’s Play to sequels including Child’s Play 2, Bride of Chucky and even Seed of Chucky, it’s all one cohesive timeline that Mancini remains deeply committed to.
Of course, the most recent film in the Child’s Play franchise was the 2019 remake, to date the only movie in the saga that’s Not part of Mancini’s vision. Is Mancini’s original incarnation going to spend his final days on TV, while another Chucky will be featured in the movies? It’s a question we’ve been asking ourselves for the last few years,...

The prop panel that Kate Winslet floated about on in James Cameron’s Titanic has sold at auction for a bank account-emptying $718,750.
When is a door not a door? When it’s a balsawood prop from James Cameron’s 1997 hit, Titanic. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, this curious bit of movie memorabilia recently sold at auction for $718,750 – that’s more than £550,000 if you’re reading this in the UK.
The door was, of course, the bit of wreckage Kate Winslet famously clung to at the (spoiler alert) icy conclusion of James Cameron’s epic romance. The prop clearly struck a chord with bidders, given that it sold for considerably more than other bits of memorabilia sold at the same auction, many of which sound more immediately recognisable than a battered door.

Chucky season 3 had to be split in half due to the writers and actors strikes, with the first four episodes (read our review Here) airing on Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service) back in October. Production resumed at the end of November, and the second half of the season will begin airing on April 10th. That date is just a few weeks away, so Syfy has now unveiled a two minute promo that offers a glimpse of the insanity the second half of season 3 will be bringing to the screen, and you can check that out in the embed above.

Did you know that there is a Child’s Play-inspired film from Mexico? If you didn’t, you can thank Vinegar Syndrome’s new label Degausser Video for making 1993’s Herencia Diabólica available for the masses to watch. Or at least for the Vs hardcore fanbase, Chucky completists and anyone else who needs something like this in their lives.
Director Alfredo Salazar, known for his writing connection to the 70s Santo film series, also serves as the writer here to bring us a film seemingly inspired from the Child’s Play franchise. While it has been recently labeled as the “Mexican Child’s Play” (there’s a special feature on the disc with that very title), the killer doll concept is where the comparison should start and end. Despite having some seeds planted by that franchise, Salazar delivers a story that blossoms into something unique.

I’m excited to return to Daily Dead with Archie’s House of Horrors. It’s also a perfect way to kick off Archie Horror in 2024, with a second installment of a title that garnered great success for Archie in 2023: Pop’S Chock’Lit Shoppe Of Horrors. We’re returning to this fun anthology for a second serving of terror in Fresh Meat.
Sequels are ubiquitous when it comes to horror. There’s no better franchise game in media than that of the horror sequels. Series like Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Child’s Play, Saw, Scream, and—probably most notably—Halloween (of which even Archie has had a little fun with Michael Myers in the past), are not just beloved within the horror space, they’re iconic franchises with immediate recognizability. Pyper Braun as Alice in ‘Imaginary’ (Photo Credit: Parrish Lewis / Lionsgate)
At first glance, it would seem as if Blumhouse’s new horror movie Imaginary is just another killer doll movie along the lines of Child’s Play or Annabelle. And after a watch, that’s pretty much what it is. But with a few twists.
Imaginary is about a children’s book author/illustrator named Jessica (DeWanda Wise from Jurassic World Dominion) who moves into her childhood home with her husband, Max (The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne), and his two girls, the teenaged Taylor (Monarch’s Taegen Burns) and the younger Alice (Desperation Road’s Pyper Braun). Lonely in her new place, Alice immediately makes an imaginary friend named Chauncey who takes the form of a cute little teddy bear. But there’s more to Chauncey than meets the eye – and he has history with Jessica.

With one of the most iconic roles in the fantasy world, Mark Hamill’s talent as Luke Skywalker is just the tip of the iceberg. Chucky season 3 had to be split in half due to the writers and actors strikes, with the first four episodes (read our review Here) airing on Syfy and USA Network (as well as the Peacock streaming service) back in October. Production resumed at the end of November – and now it has been announced that the second half of the season will begin airing on April 10th! The announcement was made via a social media video made to look like a text exchange between Chucky the killer doll and series cast member Devon Sawa, and you can watch that at the bottom of this article.
A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Don Mancini, who has written every film in the franchise (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini...

It didn’t take long for Blumhouse to announce M3GAN 2.0 after the first film scared up $180 million back in 2022, but the film will be coming along a bit later than expected.
Originally announced for theatrical release on January 17, 2025 from Blumhouse and Universal, the upcoming M3GAN sequel will now release in theaters on May 16, 2025.
Stay tuned for more on M3GAN 2.0 as we learn it.
M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally.
