In 1986 CBS canceled "Crazy Like a Fox" (9-10 est) and "Trapper John, MD" (10-11 est) to make way for movies to be shown after "Murder, She Wrote". Airing as the CBS Sunday Night Movie, the first hour of "Still Crazy Like a Fox" was aired in the same Sunday Night 9PM - 10PM time slot the original series had aired in from 1984-86.
This TV Movie/Series sequel was filmed and aired about a year after the original production ended on "Crazy Like a Fox", intended as a pilot in an attempt to revive interest in the series. Although ratings for the Sunday Night Movie airing were good, they were not good enough for CBS (or ether of the other networks) to reorder the series.
Last acting role of Allan Cuthbertson.
Final film of Esme Smythe.
