On a subway, two rival gangs suddenly appear and threaten each other, showing knives and rushing at each other, but are stopped by Chris, the babysitter. When one tells her aggressively to sit down, one of the kids she's with gets in his face. The gang member throws a knife into the boy's shoe, cutting his toe (not graphic). We see that the boy got stitches but nothing is visible.

The children are in various levels of peril throughout their trip to the city; for example, their tow-truck driver fires a gun during a domestic dispute, they are chased by criminals, they find themselves in the middle of gang fight, and the young girl climbs out of the window in a tall building. A man trying to get her ends up stranded there.
