In a list of top songs of Sridevi, it would be hard to miss Kaante nahin kat te. Getting her to wear a chiffon sari and a breeze adding to the drama was all a part of trying to make her look her most sensuous ever on-screen, says Mr. India producer Boney Kapoor.
Kapoor, who backed the 1987 film and is now eyeing a reboot, recounted the making of the song, which was picturized on his brother Anil and late wife Sridevi.

In one of Feroz Khan’s last interviews, just before he passed away, he shared that one of his greatest pains was that he was never able to make a hit film for his son Fardeen. Neither was Feroz able to repeat the success of his earlier blockbusters such as ‘Janbaaz’, ‘Dayavan’ or indeed 1980 hit ‘Qurbani’, in the later part of his directorial career.
His last wish was remaking Qurbani as ‘Kurbani’ with son Fardeen playing his role he originally had and there were talks of Saif Ali Khan enacting Vinod Khanna’s role. Feroz had even make a public announcement at the 2006 Iifa Awards in Dubai and a couple of songs were subsequently recorded as part of the pre-production. Qurbani was the biggest hit of 1980, its songs were popular and the movie sold the most number of records and tapes in that year.

The mesmerizing Sridevi only did one film Jaanbaaz and that too a 10-minute role for Feroz Khan.
But what an impact!
“I’m glad people still remember me in that brief role. It’s all because of Mr Feroz Khan’s presentation that I made an impact in Janbaaz,” says Sridevi.
Arguably the only guest appearance in her entire career Jaanbaaz featured Sridevi in a song Har kisiki nahin milta yahan pyar lighting up the screen in an orange chiffon saree.
Recalls Sridevi, “At first I was hesitant because it was just a guest appearance. Also the presentation seemed a little too.
