Shelly Duvall deserves to be remembered for more then just The Shining and Popeye. She did children a wonderful service by creating, producing and hosting the children's series Shelly Duvalls Faerie Tale Theatre and Shelly Duvall's Tall Tales And Legends giving wonderful new spins to these delightful old tales featuring many fine actors on the shows. This show brings to life Ernest Thayers wonderful poem Casey at the Bat about Mudville's favorite athlete played by none other then Elliott Gould who in my humble opinion is one of the finest actors of our time who has never been given the respect that is due him. Gould gives his usual first rate performance as Casey but my only quibble with this episode is the always arrogant and annoying Howard Cosell does the narrating and reciting the poem.
