Adapted from a Pierre Siniac's novel written in the late sixties, this movie made for TV is not really faithful to the book, except for the overall scheme. An old man lying on his death bed reveals to someone else, a wounded bandit also in the hospital where both are Under custody, the place of a hidden bullion. Then, a short while after the old man has passed away, the chase is opened. Very nostalgia atmosphere, a kind of tribute to the forties and film noir where Victor Lanoux is as good as ever. The smart thing here is that the secret is shared between two people the gangster, who knows the combination of a safe, and the old man's nurse, who knwos where the safe is but not the combination.
