Sex & Nudity

  • A woman has a bath - no nudity seen. From here, she gives her boyfriend a massage. He gets up from the bed and his naked bottom is seen.
  • A man urinates on a car. Nothing is seen.

  • A man asks a woman to dance. The boyfriend intervenes and pushes him over. The man, in a bizarre act of revenge, deliberately breaks two of his own fingers.

  • At the start of the film, a mother rings her daughter and then unleashes a range of abusive insults of a sexual nature

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is a bar scene. Numerous people seen drinking, smoking as expected.
  • A man lights a cigarette at the dining table. He then puts it out in the food.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A woman gets trapped in a garage. Petrol is poured in and it is set on fire.
  • A woman drives through a town that is rioting. Shouts, screams and gunshots are heard. Buildings are on fire. People are running in all directions. Bullets hit the car.
  • The film has an eerie atmosphere to it, which is hammered in further by the dreary musical score. The slow burn of having to watch as the town falls apart is maintained throughout the runtime with little room for comfort.

Sex & Nudity

  • The boyfriend, who is a doctor, has a teenager (probably under the age of sexual consent) in his surgery. He stands in front of her and you hear a zip being unfastened. It is implied that the girl is about to perform oral sex on him.
  • The boyfriend finds numerous photos of his girlfriend, in various stages of undress. The photos were taken by her brother. The boyfriend then goes to his girlfriend and has sex with her.

Violence & Gore

  • A man takes a woman's parking space. She repeatedly rams the car.
  • In front of the townspeople, coming out of a funeral, the sheriff shoots a child for a minor crime, with a machine gun, emptying the entire magazine. Some of the additional bullets hit the store that the child was running to. The store owner is more bothered about the state of his store.
  • A man is shot twice with a shotgun. A woman then drives into and kills the shooter
  • The boyfriend of the protagonist murders her brother after discovering that the latter has incestuous feelings for her. The act isn't shown, but his bloodied corpse can be seen for a few moments.
  • An elderly doctor euthanizes the protagonist's mother by cutting off her life support machine's oxygen supply.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the end of the film, in the aftermath of the riots and the Government's 'crop' spraying of the town to kill the town's population, a slow pan shows many dead bodies, including children and animals.
  • A man breaks his own fingers after being denied a dance in a country music bar. His scream is unnerving.
