Spy movie parody with Andrés Pajares , including lots of jokes , pursuits , intrigue , entertainment and amusement
ma-cortes10 January 2018
Funny and silly comedy about a sympathetic rogue man , a plumber well played by Pajares in his usual hilarious style , professionally directed by the writer/producer/director Alvaro Sáenz De Heredia and it achieved success at Spanish box office . Bemusing story with embarrassing moments and fun acting by a likable comedian : Andrés Pajares . Set in the last years of the cold war between the United States and Russia around the signing of a treaty on nuclear disarmament . It deals with an unlucky plumber who carries out their bunglering jobs , when he meets a stranger spy , Anna Petrovna Borodina (Silvia Tortosa) and then , he suddenly becomes involved into a twisted international intrigue , replacing a known pacificier (Andres Pajares himself in a double role) who has been wound with unexpected consequences . To flee his enemies Juán uses thousands of tricks and fakes . But things go wrong when there appears some traitors and double-agents .

In this flick there is humor , fun and guffaws . An amusing but average Spanish comedy film and with its ups and downs . It deals with an unfortunate as well as botcher plumber called Juan Martinez , Andrés Pajares, a Spanish plumber ; this hard-working worker finds himself involved in a web of international intrigues .Pajares is a cool Spanish actor, who usually formed an attractive cinematic couple with Fernando Esteso . Both of whom usually playing a duo of unfortunate , roguish , swindlers as well as bungling people . They usually made couple in a lot of films and achieved much success in the 80s . And especially ¨Los Bingueros¨ was one of their greatest hits . The movies they played were funny and with many support's actors . The films were with short budget and lackluster but including comedy and lots of fun . Those contained many nude girls , laughs and slapstick , being mostly directed by Mariano Ozores , a craftsman filmmaker and writer , who wrote/directed disconcerting screenplays , he recently won a Goya Award (2016) to his long and fruitful career . The latter made with these two famous comedians , -Andres Pajares and Fernando - several films , as they had various years partnership between the two leads , such as ¨Agitese Antes Usarla¨ , ¨Al Este Del Oeste¨, ¨Los Liantes¨, ¨Los Energeticos¨, ¨La Lola Lleva Al Huerto¨ , ¨El Currante¨, El Hijo Del Cura¨. This ¨La Hoz y el Marrtinez¨ is a charming as well as embarrassing comedy that contains crazy events , nudism , amusement and absurd situations . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit . It is a nutty Spanish comedy that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever , though it has some fun and hilarious moments . Humor is sometimes cheesy and gross-out with numerous naughty and picaresque situations , as well as some action scenes ; including car chases and crashes by the expert stunt -driver Alain Petit . The film attempts to give laughs and it works here and there , resulting in an amusing though middling film . My feelings are extremely mixed but I must admit there are some brief and no very enjoyable laughters ; however , it also packs uneven comedy , simple humor , and some political themes . ¨La Hoz y el Martinez¨ partially reflects the mood and the reality of Spain and Europe in the Cold War era , dealing with politic juncture about the hard relations between URSS and USA in similar style to other films from this period . It gives a silly but ironical Spain and Madrid outlook and containing some political remarks . Supporting cast is plenty of familiar faces such as : Gérard Tichy , Jack Taylor , Javier Loyola , José Lifante , Rafael Hernández , José Yepes , Emilio Fornet , Adriano Domínguez and many others

¨La Hoz y el Martinez¨ is a mediocre picture with some amusing moments , being profesional but middlingly directed by Alvaro Saenz de Heredia in his usual style and had much success in the Spanish box office . Saenz Heredia directed decent films and many actors and technicians worked and ate thanks to the huge success of his films . Heredia directed various vehicles for popular comedians as Chiquito De La Calzada , Bigote Arrocet : ¨Condemor¨ , followed by ¨Bracula¨, ¨Papa Piquillo¨ ; Emilio Aragon : ¨Policia¨ , ¨Freddy , El Crupier¨ ; Andres Pajares : ¨Hoz Y El Martínez¨ ; Javier Gurruchaga : ¨R2 Caso Cadaver Sin Cabeza¨ ; and Martes Y Trece : ¨Aqui Huele a Muerto¨ , ¨El Robo De La Joyoya¨ . Alvaro is an specialist on comedies , as he has proved in : 2010 Venganza Ira Vamp , 2005 R2 Caso Cadaver Sin Cabeza , 2002 Esta Noche no , 2001 Corazón De Bombón , 1998 Pápa Piquillo , 1997 Brácula Condemor II , 1996 Aquí Llega Condemor, El Pecador De Pradera , 1994 Una Chica Entre Un Millón , 1992 Chechu y Familia . This raucous spy spoof is an Andrés Pajares vehicle , if you like his crazy, maniac performances , you'll enjoy this one
