Slapstick
blumdeluxe28 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"Die Supernasen" tells the story of two young men who lost girlfriend or job and are now on a big hunt for success and love. Therefore, they have to make some pretty bizarre plans and maneuvers and produce a lot of chaos.

The movie mainly consists of pretty easy humor that sometimes crosses the border to slapstick. It is interesting mostly due to the lead characters that are both well-known entertainers in Germany. Apart from that it's not better or worse than most other films of this genre, nothing that will have a lasting impact or make you scream in laughter but entertaining enough to accept it and say it's okayish.

All in all this one doesn't come with a clever script or subtle humor, it's easy to handle, not very offensive and more or less harmless.

Noses are not so super
kosmasp28 February 2021
But I'm not shaming their noses or anything. If I'd shame them, then it would be for their "acting". But I do reckon, even back then people didn't think those two were great actors. They just loved their personalities and went along with everything. Even so far as the movie was allowed to break the fourth wall and call them by their real name at one point.

What also hasn't aged well, is the humor of it all. In a woke enviroment this will not survive 5 minutes ... so many things wrong, so many racial missteps or sexist remarks or ideals that are upheld. Now of course some may feel I am being too harsh and don't see the things here for what they are ... but I'm just laying out facts here. It is for you to decide if and how offended you may feel about those things (the mocking of different languages included) ... again this was considered to be fun or funny and people were not so easily offended back then. You may hold that against them or not ... I can't speak for you. I can only say, that it did not age well and has quite a few issues to say the least

A sequel nobody really needed

Warning: Spoilers
"Die Supernasen" is a German 84-minute movie from almost 85 minutes ago. It is the second film from the Gottschalk/Krüger movie and more should follow. This time the duo also wrote the entire film, if the information here on IMDb is correct. Oh well, the two may have talent in hosting and comedy, but acting really does not seem to be their biggest strength. Then again, their writing is probably even weaker than their acting. The good thing is that the film stays clearly under 90 minutes, so you will not be bored for too long. They may be a charismatic duo, especially Gottschalk, but this cannot save the film from being at least as weak as the first film. Good to see the duo found their real talent not much later in the entertainment industry. In here, they dress up as sheiks for the most part, but there is more once again. Of course, like in the first they are also in drag at some point and I guess if people found this funny, then humour was really something different back then. The good thing is it not really offensive or try-hard at any point, quite the opposite actually. For the most part, I did not feel that they really wanted to make a funny film. There was a certain kind of lackluster attached to it, especially from Gottschalk once again. So yeah, not a good film and it's a bit embarrassing there are still 2 more films. I guess if people really liked this film enough to warrant these sequels, then these Tommy/Mike movies have not aged well at all. Not recommended.
