Another madcap comedy from Wong Jing, still with Shaw at this point. He brings back Wong Yue, Yin Tse and Chen Kuan Tai from CHALLENGE OF THE GAMESTERS and tells a more expanded modern-day story with an expanded budget. This time around there are ninja assassins led by the thoroughly imposing Michael Chan Wai-Man, a trap room courtesy of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and even a reference to THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK in the form of a novel death method. The comedy ranges from the witty to the puerile and there are the usual martial arts bouts and mahjong (of course) scenes thrown into the mix. It's crazy, but it all works very well.
