- Although passed intact for cinema the UK video release suffered 30 secs of BBFC cuts with heavy edits to the drill murders, stabbing scenes and the climactic death of the killer. The title was also changed to "Slumber Party Murders" due to the video nasty scare sweeping the country at the time. It was eventually passed fully uncut for DVD in 2003 with the original title restored.
- Before the movie was released on VHS for the first time by Embassy, the movie had different opening credits. The words "The Slumber Party" are typed out in black and white Courier font before the word "MASSACRE" in all red caps is stamped across the bottom of the screen...
- In June 2003, The UK version was passed for DVD release with its original title and all previous cuts waived.
