  • A cat's food is drugged by a mouse and you see the cat asleep with one unfocusing eye open.
  • In the flashback scene, a man injects a mouse with a special drug.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is an unbelievable amount of violence.
  • The Great Owl, while not a villain, is still very intimidating.
  • A Spider can be seen following Mrs. Brisby in The Great Owl's tree. Later it's face can be seen up close.
  • Mrs. Brisby and Jeremy are chased by Dragon the cat, who is designed to feel as monstrous and menacing as possible.
  • One rat in rat nest tries to kill Mrs. Brisby but she retreats. However, a familiar face allows her to enter again and another rat, the Captain of the Guard, meets them and so warmly welcomes her inside.

  • A spider gets squashed by the Great Owl, the spiders blood is shown in a greenish color.
  • The main character cuts her arm and blood is shown.
  • One of the main characters gets crushed by a cinder block.
  • The duel scene ends as the injured rat throws a knife at Jenner's back, killing him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the film's climax, the cinderblock home starts to sink into the mud despite the best efforts of Mrs. Brisby and the Rats to stop it. Meanwhile, her children struggle to keep from drowning in their flooding home while the viewer has no idea how the bedridden Timmy is doing.
  • We learn from a sad and somewhat shocking memory scene that the rats of NIMH gained human-calibre intelligence (not expected by the human scientists) when they were caught and then confined in a darkly-lit laboratory and subjected to painful experiments that involved substances with other frightened and confused animals as haunting music plays. We also see that not all of the mice who had tried to escape with the rats survived the attempt.
  • The tractor nearly destroyed the Brisby house but saved by Auntie Shrew.
