A so interesting social analysis
searchanddestroy-118 March 2016
It's a real shame that this movie has never been commented, or I presume more widely released. It exists on VHS, only in France. Such a shame. The tale of an industry big shot, big executive who, after being kidnapped, is kept prisoner in a flat, in a suburb building. But the story is far more complex than it seems to be at first sight. It's not on the same scheme as Costa Gavras's ETAT DE SIEGE, whilst being as interesting, for sure; just different. Another point of view on the society problems. A sort of puzzle, where you have a wide description of characters, different one from each other, that will permit the audience to understand the whole film. Well, maybe... Because, I repeat, I am sure not every one will be able to get the meaning of this feature. Beware, you see in this film some unbearable sequences of animal experiments on live monkey, in a laboratory, where the f... scientists open the poor beast's skull and put some electricity on his brain. We can interpret this as a sort of metaphor to help the understanding of the movie. I mean: is not every one of us the subject of a kind of a sociological, political, brain surgery from the leaders, the rulers, from those who lead our country? I guess that's one lead to understand this complex piece of work. Complex but certainly not uninteresting. Not for all audiences.
