Pack up your bags for a fun-filled summer camp with three of Hollywood's finest as Deadline has reported that the trio of Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, and Alfre Woodard are set to star as best friends in an upcoming feature comedy Summer Camp written and directed by Castille Landon. While summer camp settings have long become synonymous with nightmarish tales of camping gone wrong, Summer Camp will be sticking to the fun side of camping with a relatable story at its center.

Exclusive: Diane Keaton (Book Club: The Next Chapter), Kathy Bates (Richard Jewell) and Alfre Woodard (The Gray Man) have locked deals to star in the feature comedy Summer Camp, which Castille Landon (After franchise) is directing from her own script.

Prolific Andalusian production company La Claqueta has tapped award-winning screenwriter-producer Alberto Marini to direct rural thriller “Últimos días de caza” (“Last Days of Hunting.”)

Penned by José Cabeza, co-scribe on 2016’s “7 Years,” Netflix first Spanish original movie, “Last Days of Hunting” has a completed screenplay and has initiated financing.

The aim is to close the financing phase during this year and begin shooting second quarter 2024, probably in northern Spain.

“Last Days of Hunting” leads a growth-period for Seville-based La Claqueta, which is raising the ante in terms of film production ambitions.

“This is a noir that revolves around torpid masculinity; it is the story of volcanoes that don’t know how to release lava when they should and that explode inwards,” said Marini, who debuted as a helmer with 2015 horror feature “Summer Camp.”

Summer Camp Island creator Julia Pott is sharing her disappointment with HBO Max’s decision to pull the series as part of an upcoming content purge in unscripted and animated genres.

“We worked for five years to make 100 episodes of animation,” Pott wrote on Twitter. “We worked late into the night, we let ourselves go, we were a family of hard working artists who wanted to make something beautiful, and HBO Max just pulled them all like we were nothing. Animation is not nothing!”

She also addressed the upcoming final season which was slated for release in 2023. “We worked through the pandemic to make 20 linear episodes that are our most beautiful work yet,” she said. “I cannot wait for you to see them. You Will See Them! I will not rest!”

Summer Camp Island creator Julia Pott is expressing her frustration with HBO Max, whose latest content purge includes the entirety of the beloved animated series’ run — including 20 unreleased episodes.

HBO Max announced Wednesday evening that more than three dozen titles — among them 20 Max Originals, including Cartoon Network transplant Summer Camp Island — would be removed this week, as Warner Bros. Discovery prepares to combine HBO Max and Discovery+ into a single, unified streaming service. Shortly thereafter, Pott took to Twitter to lament the decision.
