Based on the history of the Morgan Horse breed, named after its owner, very cute all the story, captivating to know the story behind the film ... Justin Morgan human married Martha Day in reality, had many children, and the wife passed away 10 days after giving birth to the youngest, the Morgan horse stayed just 3 years with Justin, then became a breeder, but also worked on farms, and died at the age of 32... Cute tribute to the only originally American horse breed...

This movie is great.Watching Justin Morgan raise his colt was a fascinating thing for me when I was a child . I always wanted a horse.

I wish Disney would bring alot of the older titles back out on video. I have over 75 Disney titles and over half are the old live action movies,my children love them .

Surprisingly good.

In the late 18th century, one of the first American breeds of horse was developed, the Morgan Horse. This horse was named after its creator, Justin Morgan...a poor musician and school teacher who isn't a very likely man to develop this great all-around breed.

The story is quite unlike other Disney films of the era. Instead of trying to appeal to children with broad humor and writing, the story seems quite adult and is told very well. You would swear as you watch that it's NOT a Disney film...as the 1970s were not a good period for the studio. Still, excellent direction and acting make this one quite enjoyable...well worth seeing.
