The shot of Hot Lips being revealed in the shower was replaced with her exiting the helicopter in network and basic cable showings when Sally Kellerman's name was announced.
There are no end credits, other than an announcer reading the actors' names, after which the film abruptly cuts to black.
The announcer on the camp P.A. throughout the film several times announces the movie that will be shown in the mess tent that evening, with a description and list of stars in it. Near the end of the film, in the last scene, the P.A. announcer says "Attention. Tonight's movie has been MASH. Follow the zany antics of our combat surgeons as they cut and stitch their way along the front lines, operating as bombs and bullets burst around them, snatching laughs and love between amputations and penicillin. Follow Hawkeye, Trapper, Duke, Dago Red, Painless, Radar, Hot Lips, Dish, and staff sergeant Vollmer, as they put our boys back together again. Starring ..." and then lists the actors.
Robert Altman cast so many unknowns in the movie that after one or two known actors, the cast credits all say "Introducing"
The end cast credits are read over the PA system, without onscreen titles. First listing all the character nicknames, omitting characters that had no nicknames, then listing all the actors' names. The actors list begins with the more "known" actors, read one at a time over a video clip of each of them from a scene in the movie, then the reader speeds up the list for the less-known or unknown actors, running all the names fast together in a verbal blur, but again over a quick video shot of each of them.
