Sex & Nudity

  • A woman visits a man's apartment at night and he assumes (correctly) she wants to have sex. She lowers the front of her dress, briefly exposing her breasts. They are shown having sex, but their bodies are out of focus and any nudity is obscured by objects in the foreground.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is killed with a knife
  • A man is pushed under a train. Blood can be seen spurting out of the mouth
  • A man is strangled with a wire. (Intense)
  • A woman is strangled with a wire. (Intense)
  • A man is nearly killed on a roof.
  • A man is poked in an existing injury with a sharp walking stick.

Profanity

  • Two men have a competition to see who can say the most bad words, played for comedy.
  • A few uses of 'Bastard'
  • Too much cussing .
  • Very mild. One "s**t" I recall, and a woman describes herself as a whore.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • No more than was usual for the period.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Psychological drama, with some scenes shot from the point of view of the killer (quite unusual at the time, before the advent of portable cameras).
