Even Wenders started small

Warning: Spoilers
is maybe what Werner Herzog would have called this 11-minute short movie from almost 50 years ago. It is Wenders' second work as a filmmaker and apparently the first film is lost. The man we see in here dressed up like a soldier and carrying a rifle is played by Hanns Zischler, actually one of Germany's most known actors abroad due to his long-time presence in Hollywood films. Wenders was in his early 20s when he made this black-and-white short film, Zischler was even younger. For him it was the first performance of a very long career that lasts till today, if you want to call it even a performance. Basically we see a man walking through the street, or we see everything except his head. The way in which he walks could make you think that he was shot possibly, it does not look natural. And there is some change in colors, but this does not really add anything of worth. Anyway, this short film could be an experience to young filmmakers that it's perfectly fine if your very first works are not exceptionally great already. It's absolutely okay if you steadily keep improving as your career progresses. Just like Wenders did and became one of the most defining filmmakers of his era. About this one here, obviously not recommended.
