Neither a Merrie Melodie nor a Looney Tune - this film was released as a one-time-only "Cartoon Special".
This was the first Warner Bros. cartoon from the "Seven Arts" era released on home video; specifically, Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 6 in 2008.
N. Paul Stookey envisaged the production of further cartoons starring Norman Normal, but the closure of the animation studio following the acquisition of Warner Bros.-Seven Arts by the Kinney National Company in 1969 stopped those plans coming to fruition.
"N. Paul Stookey" was better known as Paul Stookey of the popular folk group, Peter, Paul and Mary. The theme song, "Norman Normal," was included on "The Peter, Paul and Mary Album," released in 1966.
The closing logo includes the "A Vitaphone Release" byline, the same byline that was used on Merrie Melodies cartoons at the time.
