Broadly speaking, yes. The movie won the 1967 Academy Award for Best Motion Picture, and Robert Bolt won for Best Adapted Screenplay, the adaptation coming from the play of the same name which he wrote. Bolt was a serious playwright and his research was impeccable. There are certain differences between the stage play and the film but nothing which detracts from truth, e.g. there was no Chief Judge in reality; the court investigation was run by the Duke of Norfolk.
