Submitted to the British Board of Film Censors as Goliath - King of the Slaves by Compton-Cameo, and passed with a "U" certificate on 24 February 1965. Although not generally released on the major Rank and ABC circuits, Compton-Cameo distributed the (English-dubbed) film to a large number of British cinemas. The UK television premiere came on 31 December 1991 when Channel 4 film chose it to open their Sword and Sandal season. Using the original title The Hero of Babylon, Channel 4 presented it in Italian with English subtitles.
