This film was regarded by the reviewers as a trifle. A teacher slaps an adolescent pupil in the face and so what? Really not worthy making a movie about in 1961! Still times have changed, and today such a behavior would call for deep concerns.
What stands out in the film is the intriguing performance of the lead actor, 15 years old Gitte Hænning. She was already known to the public as a child performer singing, and she pursued that career later in Germany as a popular star. However I feel she could have made it in the movies as well and with a more interesting career.
