Mohd Rafi recorded the first ever song for Dharmendra 'jaane kya dhoondhti rehti hai ye aankhen mujh me' which is considered as the best solo of Rafi by many stalwarts including Khayyam who was the music composer and superstar Dharmendra who performed the song onscreen.
Director Ramesh wants to cast Dev Anand in lead role, so he invite him to his studio one day. When dev arrived, auditions for other roles were also happening. There was a long line of young artists who wants to work in film. In the line, a very handsome boy was also standing . Dev got attracts to his physique and looks. He came over and starts talking to him. That boy was nervous talking to such superstar but dev assures him to not get nervous. Talking to him dev got so Impressed by his style and demeanour. After talking to him, dev goes inside the studio and director Ramesh reads him the whole script and tells him that he wants to cast him as hero. But dev declined the role , says he don't like the story. Dev recommend Director that boy outside for the role of hero. As Dev Anand recommend, director calls that boy from outside and gave him the role without any doubts. That boy was none other than Dharmendra ( future star and most handsome man of Bollywood)
Remade as 'ishq par zor nahin' with some themic changes. Dharmendra played exactly same character. Leela mishra was played same character as dharam's mother.
Manoj Kumar was signed for the film Shola Aur Shabnam with Dharmendra. The producer decided to later drop Manoj Kumar from the film and replace him with M. Rajan.
