Hit romantic and student comedy from the sixties including the unforgettable and popular song
ma-cortes4 April 2023
The students of the Law School in Madrid, especially Ignacio Garcia (Manuel Zarzo), Desireo (Jesús Colomer) and the Hungarian Stephen (Angel del Pozo) are in love with Margarita Rodriguez Garcés (Mecedes Alonso), but she loves the professor of literature Eduardo Heredia (Antonio Cifiarello). To the disgust of the rest of the girls in the class, all the boys want to go out with her, to the point of being known as "the girlfriend of the Faculty".

A sympathetic comedy delivering a lot of silly situations, entertaiment and amusement. After producing and writing some famous political-religious films during the 1960s, Vicente Escrivá began writing and producing comedies for his former assistant director Ramón Fernández to make. After ¨! Here are the Vicetiples! ¨ (1960) and ¨Ahi Va otro Recluta¨ (1960), this is one of his best known and most successful. With the excuse of the popular student song ("Margarita is called my love, Margarita Rodríguez Garcés, a girl, girl Boom girl, of the caliber one hundred thirty-three ..." composed by Julio Salgado Alegre) that gives it the title, they create a hackneyed and predictable tale that revolves over and over again about the same thing. Stars gorgeous Mercedes Alonso as Margarita , the bomb-shell girl with all her faculty fellows as pretenders, although none of them stole her heart . And a fundamental fun is to guess which prestigious Spanish supporting actor appears here and there, showing his charm and acting skills, including the following : Ángel del Pozo , María Silva , Amparo Baró , Angel Álvarez , José Torres , Goyo Lebrero , Rafael Hernández , Victor Valverde, Anibal Vela, Paula Martel , Isana Medel , José Isbert, Jesús Tordesillas, Montserrat Salvador, Margot Cottens . And providing usal recital's Jose Luis Ozores showing splendidly his hilarious skills

It contains a colorful cinematography in the Sixties style by José F. Aguayo. This successful motion picture was professionally directed by craftman Ramon Fernandez. He was a prolific filmmaker who made all kinds of genres, outstanding in comedy, in fact he directed the Spain's most boxoffice film : No desearas al vecino del quinto. He directed al kinds of genres as thriller : Rueda de sospechosos, Siete minutos para morir, La muerte ronda a Monica, Religious genre : Sor YeYe, El Cristo del oceano, Musical : Las aventuras de Enrique y Ana, A tope, and of course, comedy : Margarita se llama mi amor, Cateto a babor, El diablo cojuelo, Las panteras se comen a los ricos, Casa Flora, Simon contamos contigo, Es que lo es, Matrimonio al desnudo, Gay club ,El donante, La insolita hazaña del cipote de Archidona, El adultero, El que no corre vuela and many others. Rating 5.5/10. Passable and acceptable.

Awful for good...

What can you expect from a romance film based on a martial song...? This is just what this film is. The song Margarita is played again and again (perhaps more than I can resist...). An awful film made in an awful period (Franco's dictatorship).

yes it's based on a military march, so what? they made it funny. Margarita is awesome, wish there were more girls like her today! great charismatic bunch of actors and a funny story line with clever dialogs. terrible, terrible Italian actor playing the teacher though, hate him, but his dead so I wont get crazy with him. truth is, every student should at one point see this movie, and every Spaniard should be able to quote margarita once in a while! 'stop! this man is for me!'

OK, so I need to write at least 10 lines of test for this to be shown in here so I'll mention what IMO is the best scene in the movie when Margarita and a bunch of other guys they go out one night and end up in the same bar as the teacher, who is also hanging out with an American teacher who's visiting Madrid. margarita get's really drunk and ends up singing on stage, this is genius, I think I might just go see the movie this minute. love this, totally, great great film! how fun
