Pap Chanel is ready to shock the world with her latest EP, "Paptivities." After a nearly two-year gap between 2021's "Pretty & Paid 2.0" and her new six-track project, released May 12, the rising rapper tells Popsugar why she took her time crafting "Paptivities" - and why the EP sounds vastly different from her previous releases. "On this project right here, every song sounds completely different," Chanel explains. "I have one song where I'm telling my fans all my business. I'm super excited for that one because people don't really get to hear transparency from artists. This is a record where I got really vulnerable and talked about the good, bad, and the ugly."
The record in question is the EP's opener, "Pap Stories," an introspective track where Chanel raps about everything from wearing "war wounds" to brushing off haters who doubted her. As promised, every other song on "Paptivities" adopts a different...

“Succession” Season 4 marks the final installment of the Emmy-winning HBO series, as creator Jesse Armstrong announced in February 2023. However, composer Nicholas Britell exclusively revealed to IndieWire at the Season 4 red carpet premiere that the announcement came as a surprise to the cast and crew.
“I only recently knew for sure that it was officially the end,” Britell told IndieWire’s Vincent Perella. “I know Jesse was really keeping an open mind, actually, and I love that he’s so passionate about the show and cares so much. Everyone knows this. Jesse wants it to be the best version of itself. So I think he basically gave himself shooting the season to be like, ‘Is this the summation?’ So I trust Jesse on that. But I recently found it was officially.”

With the news that John Cena is playing Peacemaker in the upcoming James Gunn sequel, The Suicide Squad, it’s worth examining who the character is and how he got to the movie. The easy answer is he jumped backwards out of a balloon to assassinate the president, and in case you can’t tell, I’m really excited to talk about Multiversity again.
Who Is Peacemaker?
He’s The Comedian.
Seriously, Peacemaker was the character Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons based The Comedian on in Watchmen. He was one of the Charlton characters purchased by DC in the ‘80s, introduced to the DC Universe post-Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was originally created in the mid ‘60s in a backup strip with Fightin 5, and never really made that much of an impression. But even though he wouldn’t have the impact that his Watchmen analogue would, he sill managed to...

At DC Fandome’s panel for The Suicide Squad, Warner Brothers and the crew of the movie finally revealed all of the returning characters for the upcoming movie, and I still can’t believe we’re finally getting big screen Arm Fall Off Boy. Also Harley Quinn is back.
Returning from the first movie are several characters: Harley Quinn, played almost perfectly (twice!) by Margot Robbie; Boomerang gets to be a Captain in this movie, played by Jai Courtney; Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller; and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg. But it’s the new cast members who are big surprises.
Check out this stylish video revealing who everybody’s playing. It’s pretty great. Then we’ll help explain who is who.
John Cena joins the movie as Peacemaker. We’ll have more on him soon, but he’s a Captain America-type heavily involved in the super spy agencies of the DC universe.

Composer John Williams received two Grammy nominations, as announced yesterday, bringing his grand total to 71 nominations, with 24 wins to date.
Williams was nominated in the composing and arranging field. His “Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite,” written for the new “Star Wars”-themed park at Disneyland, was nominated for best instrumental composition, while his arrangement of “Hedwig’s Theme,” the best-known piece from the “Harry Potter” films, for violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter’s all-Williams album, was cited for best instrumental arrangement.
According to official Grammy statistics, these are the legendary film composer’s 70th and 71st nominations.
Surprisingly, considering his 58-year history of Grammy attention (dating back to his 1961 nod for his TV score “Checkmate”), he is not the most-nominated film composer. He is now just one nomination behind his colleague Henry Mancini, who amassed 72 nominations before his death in 1994.

The patriarch of Hollywood's Berg family, Dick Berg, has died after a fall at his home in Los Angeles. He was 87.
A TV and movie writer and producer, Berg died on Tuesday.
Born in New York in 1922, he arrived in Hollywood in the early 1940s and became a dialogue coach for movie cowboy Roy Rogers.
But writing was his first love and many of his early scripts were turned into dramas for the Kraft Television Theatre and Robert Montgomery Presents series in the U.S.
By the late 1950s, Berg was an in-demand writer in Tinseltown and enjoyed careers at leading studios MGM, 20th Century Fox and Universal, where he created detective drama Johnny Staccato starring John Cassavetes.
He moved into TV production in the 1960s at Universal and was the man behind shows like Checkmate and Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre, which offered aspiring writers the chance to get their original teleplays aired.
By the end of the 1960s, Berg was producing films like House of Cards and Counterpoint and TV movies and mini-series such as Wallenberg,The Martian Chronicles and Elmore Leonard's Pronto.
A former president of the Hollywood Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Berg was presented with the American Film Institute's Charles Fries Producer of the Year Award in 2000.
Berg also succeeded as a father - his sons are A. Scott Berg, who is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author; Jeff, who is chairman of International Creative Management (Icm) talent agency; Tony, a record producer and executive; and Rick, a manager and producer.

Dick Berg, a prominent television writer and producer whose career ranged from live TV to movies of the week and longform programming, died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles after a brief illness. He was 87.
His producing credits range from "Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theater" to the detective series "Checkmate" to the miniseries "Space" and "The Martian Chronicles."
With his wife of 63 years, Barbara, he also headed something of a modern-day Hollywood dynasty. Their sons are Icm chairman and CEO Jeff Berg, author A. Scott Berg, music producer and executive Tony Berg and producer and manager Rick Berg.
"More than anybody I can think of in television, my father proved to be extremely successful on a commercial level without every compromising quality," Scott Berg said. "It wasn't just that he had a great eye for talent -- especially writers -- but he really knew how to get the best out of everybody.

The latest is the seemingly endless string of irresistible DVD collections comes from the good folks at Timeless Video, who have distinguished themselves with some first-class releases of vintage TV series. The latest is their most impressive yet: the 1950s crime series M Squad which helped groom Lee Marvin from supporting actor to leading man presence. Marvin is the stalwart Lt. Frank Ballinger, a Chicago cop who is so unrelentingly serious that he makes Jack Webb look like Richard Simmons. The series was part of the wave of crime shows that flooded the networks during this era, and M Squad was one of the best. The show ran three seasons and was compromised only by the half-hour time running time which made for some abbreviated storylines. The series is a gem in terms of the kinds of cornball cliches that have become part of our pop culture. I always assumed...
