Sex & Nudity

  • When WWII Ex-Marine veteran Troy, was denied the job as Chief of Police for the Sunrise Hills Housing Development, his disappointment triggered all the years of frustration he had endured as an uneducated "hillbilly" in a world he desperately wanted to occupy. That appointment would have allowed him to don another uniform of authority and the humiliation of being denied that chance was more than he could bear. In a drunken pool of false courage, he enters the unlocked door of the pretty college educated newlywed neighbor, Jeanne. Her engineer husband, David, is away on a business trip. Vulnerable to a man who has seen her existance as an insult to his manhood, Troy rapes her. The scene is brutal for 1950's sensibilities. No nudity here, but the sex and violence is seen through mostly facial expressions, intense musical scoring, and unmistakeable suggestions.
