Naya Andaz

Naya Andaz is a good movie of its times and known to be one of the box office hits in 1956 when a whole bunch of block busters were released. This is a wonderfully acted with some some memorable music provided by the master no other than O.P. Nayar. This is one of the movies where Kishore Kumar has a very sober role, Meenakumari as a proficient dancer and not a tragedy queen and Pran did not have to fight any one. Both Kishore Kumar and Meena Kumar played their parts very well specially I was very surprised to see Meena Kumari's dancing skills at a high level. Kishore Kumar sang his own songs and it was excellent. The story line is interesting and Johnny Walker and Kum Kum provided a very good side kick to keep the movie going very well. While this is not in one of the classic categories, I give this movie a eight out ten as a well acted film with good music and story line.
