Sex & Nudity

  • Holocaust-related nudity. Nothing sex-related.

Violence & Gore

  • Numerous dead bodies are seen, both in still photographs and in footage (mostly near the end)
  • Piles of bones are shown, as is a huge mound of human hair, and the narrator discusses how prisoners' bodies were used for things like fertiliser
  • A vehicle pushes a huge mound of bodies into a large mass grave on at least one occasion
  • Various burnt dead bodies are graphically shown, some fully and some partially.
  • Raw, real, and very vivid imagery depicting the horrors of the concentration camps from start to finish. Some of it is extremely graphic, and all of it is deeply disturbing and depressing.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There's a haunting, matter of fact nature to the way the atrocities are described, which makes them even more disturbing. The slow build of the film and the way it gets more intense and devastating as it goes on also makes it more disturbing.
  • The film is about the Holocaust. Enough said. It's not exactly glossed over like "Schindler's List", either. The facts presented are horrifying beyond belief (Jews skin used for paper, bones used as fertilizer, and so on).
