George Montgomery replaced Victor Mature.
A duet of "This Is Always" (music by Harry Warren, lyrics by Mack Gordon), sung by June Haver and George Montgomery (dubbed by Ben Gage), was cut from this film. As the couple danced, the melody was played. Popular records of this song came from Harry James and His Music Makers (vocal by Buddy Devito) on Columbia, Dick Haymes on Decca, Jo Stafford on Capitol, and Betty Jane Rhodes on RCA Victor.
John Brahm was replaced as director early in the production by Bruce Humberstone.
