Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Being an action serial, there are regular fist and gun fights.
  • Captain Marvel is extremely violent for this era, perfectly willing to kill his opponents such as shooting them in the back with a machine gun or throwing them off a high building.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • One of the most effective cliffhangers in the serial is when Captain Marvel is lured into a mountain cave to confront the main villain, only to find it is a mannequin with a speaker connected by a long wire. As the superhero follows the wire, the villains use the magic Golden Scorpion's power to melt the mountain and cause a flood of lava into the cave. At the end of that chapter, Captain Marvel seems trapped and looking frightened, although the beginning of the next chapter has him discovering an overhanging hole he can fly out of and escape the death trap.
