Edna's grandfather - the Professor - holds the contract for his small orchestral ensemble to perform free concerts every Sunday in the city park. The concerts are sparsely attended and unappreciated, the feeling largely that no one wants to hear classical music. As such, the city council is going to cancel the contract in favor of another orchestra. Edna and her friend Judy are regular attendees and want to see the Professor retain the contract, so they form a two person team to bring the townsfolk to next Sunday's concert just to show the city there is a want for these specific concerts to continue. It's one thing to get the bums in the seats - which is a difficult enough task - but it may take a little Edna and Judy magic, with a little help from Judy's jazz pianist father, to inject the program with a little sizzle to keep those bums in the seats over time and make the city administrators happy.
