Excellent film of Gardel. This comment may contain spoilers.

Warning: Spoilers
I watch this film several times and love Gardel songs, I think due to the time past, there are no secrets about the plot of Gardel pictures. In the top moment of his life as a singer he was called to the EEUU for the Paramount due to the interest his name offered to all audiences in these times. Two of his better songs are included one reflecting his love for Buenos Aires and other showing his gambler side.Of course he wasn't an excellent actor but instead was probably the best Tango singer in the world and still is.The film is a classic, and the last of his movies due to his tragical death in a plane accident. So if you like tango you can't avoid to watch this film.

Gardel dances!
MegaSuperstar27 August 2015
Carlos Gardel plays Ricardo Fuentes, who leaves Buenos Aires to go to Barcelona to open a tango bar. Gardel sings some beautiful songs "Por una cabeza", "Los ojos de mi moza", "Lejana tierra mía" and "Arrabal amargo", this one as a part of his tango bar show where he even dances a tango with Rosita Moreno (Laura Montalván) in a very elegant way. I saw this film because my grandmother loves Carlos Gardel and the unique way he sings tangos but not expecting very much and I have found it quite enjoyable. Plot is not silly but logical and nicely done. I have enjoyed the tango bar dancing and singing routine specially: I had never seen dancing tango in a so beautiful and elegant way, far from the usual suburban way. As a curiosity, you can see a few views of Barcelona main streets back in 1935. A curiosity and a must see film for all the Gardel fans.
