Thor: Ragnarok is now playing in select theaters overseas, and at least so far, Taika Waititi’s threequel has generated a staggering amount of goodwill across the four corners of the industry.
Box office forecasts are through the roof, while Ragnarok has also been a hit among critics – so much so, in fact, that it’s since become the McU’s highest-rated pic on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s quite an achievement, not least because Marvel’s Thor series was beginning to slip toward franchise fatigue prior to the appointment of Taika Waititi, and the entire journey has been such a resounding success that the New Zealand filmmaker refuses to rule out the possibility of working with Marvel in the not-so-distant future. A female-led Thor movie, perhaps?
But beneath all of the sky-high estimates and glowing reviews, Thor: Ragnarok has also been championed as a progressive step in the right direction...

Tessa Thompson is making Marvel Cinematic Universe history.
The 34-year-old actress revealed on Twitter on Saturday that her Thor: Ragnarok character, Valkyrie, is bisexual -- making her the first Lgbtq character in the McU.
"She's bi. And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a joy to play!" Thompson wrote.
"Val is Bi in the comics & I was faithful to that in her depiction," she added in another tweet. "But her sexuality isn't explicitly addressed in Thor: Ragnarok."

Et's Cameron Mathison spoke with Thompson at Thor: Ragnarok's junket earlier this month, where she opened up about the honor of joining the McU with her character.
"[The cast] was really welcoming, but I think more than that, I just wanted to capture the spirit of this character that fans have a real connection with," she revealed. "Valkyrie...

Ronald Colman: Turner Classic Movies' Star of the Month in two major 1930s classics Updated: Turner Classic Movies' July 2017 Star of the Month is Ronald Colman, one of the finest performers of the studio era. On Thursday night, TCM presented five Colman star vehicles that should be popping up again in the not-too-distant future: A Tale of Two Cities, The Prisoner of Zenda, Kismet, Lucky Partners, and My Life with Caroline. The first two movies are among not only Colman's best, but also among Hollywood's best during its so-called Golden Age. Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, Jack Conway's Academy Award-nominated A Tale of Two Cities (1936) is a rare Hollywood production indeed: it manages to effectively condense its sprawling source, it boasts first-rate production values, and it features a phenomenal central performance. Ah, it also shows its star without his trademark mustache – about as famous at the time as Clark Gable's. Perhaps...

Oprah may have thought the question everyone wanted to ask Usher was whether he makes love to his own music (answer: yes), but really what we all wanted to know was whether he really did cheat on Tameka Foster, with one of her own bridesmaids. On Oprah’s Next Chapter, his answer was a firm … not really.
“No. I was faithful at heart, but not faithful all the way,” Usher said. “Even having a conversation with another woman, period, about matters of your relationship or emotions is, in my opinion, not being faithful.”
And when Oprah tried to clarify the matter of whether he’d actually slept with another woman, he finally answered, “When we were separated, yes, I was. We were not divorced.”
Usher admitted to having doubts about the marriage right before their 2007 wedding, making many of us on the outside shake our heads along with O. At the same time,...

Dear Glee,
While you were gone, I was faithful and true. I watched old episodes on my DVR. I got into heated debates on Twitter about where the season was going from here. I waxed passionate with friends who do not watch Glee, explaining why it was really as good as its popularity would indicate, despite the plot holes and stuff.
I don't regret my devotion, dearest Glee, but I do regret the hour I spent watching "Night of Neglect," or rather, I regret slightly less than one hour because there were a few minutes that were worth the wait.
I hope, my beloved little show, that next week lives up to the expectations raised by the preview for a ninety minute episode with Kurt wearing an adorable hat, because otherwise, darlingest Gleester, our love may be put to a terrible test.
Yours devotedly… etc.
Okay, was last night's episode that bad?...

Newly-engaged Hugh Hefner is profiled in the New York Times magazine, and he talks about his wild past and finally settling down at 84 with Crystal Harris, 24.
"This is it," he said. "This is a very, very special one. I expect to spend the rest of my life with her."
Hef tells the Nyt that his first two wives cheated on him, and he felt older and "not well" during his marriage to Kimberley Conrad, the Playmate he wed in 1989. Their divorce was not finalized until last year, even though they split in 1998.
"During the marriage I was faithful," he said to me emphatically, "and she was not." (Hefner, for all his advanced views, clings to the double standard and has never entirely got over his first wife's admission that while they were engaged she had an affair with a high-school coach.) The aftermath, he now admits, was "overcompensation," as he began dating posses of women,...

David Arquette has conducted another interview with Howard Stern to keep media up to date with his break-up with soon-to-be-ex-wife Courteney Cox. David, who in previous interview with Howard revealed about his affair and his sex life with Courteney, admitted that Courteney "got really pissed" over the initial chat.
"We talked it all out and then we took a walk and it was great... She had a right to get upset about some of the personal details," David said during the Wednesday morning, October 27 interview.
