The late British comedian, Bob Monkhouse owned a complete set of reels of this film, but they were seized and destroyed after a raid on his home by Her Majesties Customs and Excise on copyright grounds.
Only five reels of picture and two reels of soundtrack survive.
The locomotive numbers change throughout the final scene. In the shot immediately before the bridge scene, the number is shown in mirror reverse. GWR 6319 was cut up in 1964. LNER 2441 was disposed of in 1937. Shots of the locos and bridge were reused in the 1941 version.
In some ways, this version resembles the original play more than the 1941 film.
