The fascist organisation uses a swastika as a secret signal, suggesting the 'western' country is Germany. Although the symbol had only been adopted by the Nazis in 1920, it was prominently displayed in newspaper pictures of the failed Beer Hall Putsch (1923), two years before Luch smerti was released.
