A graphically told story of the indiscretions of a young woman who has social aspirations beyond her means. It is a common story, too common for comfort, perhaps, and it is told in such a dramatic way that it becomes more than ordinarily impressive. The dramatic climax, where the Count forces his attentions upon her and is soundly chastised by the husband, makes a fitting close to the film. There are numerous lessons in this picture, nor is there any attempt to conceal them. Perhaps they will exert a beneficial influence upon other women who may be at risk of falling into the same kind of temptation. - The Moving Picture World, April 9, 1910
