- Some spend all their money and risk their lives for nothing more than personal goals. That's the sum of land-speed racing, an amateur motorsport that pays nothing more than the respect of a racer's peers and the achievement of a top-speed record. This is the hobby that birthed all of the hot rodding world, when backyard car builders met on the far-flung dry lakebeds of the Southern California desert in the 1930s to see whose car could go the fastest. In 1949, hot rodders first gained access to top-speed runs at the world-famous Bonneville Salt Flats, and now the quest for 200-plus-mph records has extended to venues worldwide. Those racers who set records in excess of 200 miles per hours are entered into the exclusive fraternity of the 200 MPH Club at each venue where records are maintained. Only a handful of people have entered multiple 200 MPH Clubs. Filmmakers Levi Rugg, Travis LaBella, and Collin Davis trace the passions of former Hot Rod Magazine editor David Freiburger and his racing partner Keith Turk as they trek to Australia to race the salt flats at Lake Gairdner for record attempts in a 1968 Chevy Camaro owned by 9-time 200 MPH Clubber Jack Rogers. The goals: seven clubs for Turk, five for Freiburger. To do so, they must travel 100 miles into the Outback and set records of up to 249 mph to achieve the goal of a lifetime.
- 'Tis the season of togetherness, giving, and of course holiday-inspired automotive madness. Join David Freiburger and Brian Lohnes as they bring you joy and cheer by putting Fred Williams, Faye Hadley, Steve Dulcich, Eric Malone, Lucky Costa, and Tony Angelo against each other through a spectacular display of driving challenges in some of the most questionable junk this side of The North Pole.
- Strap in and hold on, as PUT UP OR SHUT UP pits the fastest cars and wildest drivers against each other in a tense battle for ultimate bragging rights. From high-octane drag racing to white-knuckle hill climbs, engines and egos go head to head to win it all. NHRA and Hot Rod Drag Week announcer Brian Lohnes hosts.
- The new year brings a new challenge, and this holiday season we'll see if some of your favorite MT hosts have the endurance to take their hoopties to a whole new level. Over multiple days of festive fun, three teams of two will compete by upgrading their fan favorite beaters into rally-inspired dirt-eaters. The face-off will pair hosts Faye Hadley and Steve Dulcich, Lucky Costa and Eric Malone, and Dave Chappelle and KJ Jones against each other while challenging their driving skills and building ingenuity culminating in a wheel-to-wheel nighttime dirt endurance race under the holiday lights at Glen Helen Raceway. With project vehicles from MotorTrend's Originals shows, we might finally answer the question of who would win, Roadkill Garage, Dirt Every Day, or Hot Rod Garage?

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa decide to build a boat of a car, a 1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, and drop it on airbags for a sweet-and-low cruiser. The Caddy, however, had other plans. The 472 Cadillac V-8 exploded on the first test drive, and it was clear we needed to swap in a serious powerplant. A 5.3 LS setup for a carburetor and a 4L60E overdrive transmission swap become the new focus of the episode. After the car is running, the guys take it on a high-speed desert blast to make sure it won't let them down again. - 2012–2024TV Episode

This is Roadkill, powered by Dodge. Way back in 2010 before Roadkill was even a thing, hosts David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan built (or unbuilt) the Vette Kart, a 1985 Chevy Corvette that was stripped to nothing but a chassis and powertrain to save weight and go fast for cheap. The Kart contraption was first seen on Roadkill, Episode 35, and later on Episode 47, and it inspired a legion of people to build similar rides. The Vette Kart has proven itself on the autocross, big track, and dragstrip, and now the guys are bringing it back to round out its motorsports accomplishments with sand-dune blasting and Roadkill's least-predictable stunt yet: skiing a car, which means driving on two wheels. Joining the guys for the adventure is stuntman James Smith, a ski-car specialist. He thinks Roadkill picked the worst car possible for learning to ski, and after watching the episode, you'll probably agree. Roadkill is supported by Jegs, Pilot Auto Transport, Optima Batteries, Gearstar Transmissions, and EBC Brakes. - 2012–2024TV Episode

Surprise. Fans assumed we'd do this for the 75th episode of Roadkill powered by Dodge, but we jumped the gun and served it up here in Episode 74: yup, it's a Roadkill project-car showdown at DirtFish Rally School. This location became famous on Episode 32 when Subaru challenged Roadkill to a showdown and we went head-to-head on the rally course with a Subie versus the General Mayhem 1968 Dodge Charger. It made for some of the best action scenes in the history of Roadkill, leaving fans demanding more. So, on this episode, the General Mayhem is back-complete with its new 707hp drivetrain from a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat. We also brought a number of other cars chosen loosely because they have appeared on the show since the last project-car showdown on Episode 50. You'll see the off-road Hornet from Episode 71; the Disgustang from Episode 66; the Crusher Impala from Episodes 60 and 65; Laphonda from 59; the frame-dragging Datsun mini-truck from 58; the Mazdaratti from 45, 50, and 51; and Nascarlo from Episode 46. Time for big action on Roadkill. - 2014– TV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa give you the lowdown on drag racing. Watch the guys take our 10-second turbo Camaro project and a bone-stock 1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, prep them for action, and hit the racetrack. There's a full rundown on exactly how to do everything at the strip-burnouts, launching, nailing the tree, and even how to shift and slow down. Whether you are a total newbie or have been down the strip a million times, there's lots of great info in this one. - 2014– TV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa take their LS-swapped '71 Sedan deVille and turn it into a rolling party machine. The car was already a highway-crushing cruiser with a 5.3 LS and 4L60E overdrive transmission, but the guys needed it to finally have the style to back up the new power. Watch them install a complete state-of-the-art airbag system, with full electronic controls, and then add a 100 shot of nitrous, just for fun. This Caddy can now cruise anywhere at stock ride height but with the flip of a few switches, everything changes. It's now slammed on the ground, has an open-pipe exhaust, and an extra 100 hp of nitrous oxide. - 2014– 25mTV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, hosts Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa take a bone-stock 150hp 1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and bring it into the 21st century. Can you extract modern performance from an 80s engine by applying liberal amounts of new turbo technology? Can this 2.3L Pinto engine hang with the new Ford 2.3 Ecoboost? Watch and see. The guys will install high-flowing manifolds, a dual ball bearing turbo, big intercooler and exhaust, and one serious modern computer to control it all. - Episode: (2019)2014– TV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, hosts Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa build one of the most insane project cars in the history of the show. The guys head to Angelo's personal shop in Pennsylvania to build the Twinpala. Watch them figure out how to cram an entire second drivetrain into the rear of the Impala: engine, transmission, and suspension all have to go into the car where the rear seats used to live. Once it's all together, they put the car through its paces at Englishtown Raceway Park and light up all four tires for the most insane burnouts of all time. - Episode: (2019)2014– TV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, hosts Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa jump headfirst into the dirt track world. Watch the guys scoop up an old beat-up Nova, build a basic 350 for it, and take it to compete on a superfast half-mile dirt oval at Selinsgrove Speedway. You'll see everything you need to do, and not do to make a competitive dirt car!. The action is wild and the failures are constant, so buckle up. - Episode: (2019)2014– TV Episode

On this episode of HOT ROD Garage, hosts Tony Angelo and Lucky Costa take the Twinpala, a twin LS-engined '06 Chevy Impala SS and turn it up to 11. A completely insane twin-turbo system boosts the two stock LS4 engines to more than 900 WHP. The stock transmissions can't hang, so the boys install two Gearstar upgraded 4T65Es and get ready for action. At Maple Grove Raceway, Angelo pilots the Redneck Veyron to crush the quarter-mile at more than 139 miles per hour, and 10.40 e.t. on street tires. HOT ROD Garage has never been wilder.
