A former circus artist escapes from a mental hospital to rejoin his armless mother - the leader of a strange religious cult - and is forced to enact brutal murders in her name as he becomes "her arms".

In a little Chilean town, the son of an uprooted couple formed by a rigorous communist father and a loving but weak mother tries to pave his own path in a society that does not understand their Jewish-Ukrainian origins.

Three episodes: 1) "A Christmas Dinner": The gathered family members fantasize about being elsewhere, from the fetishist father wanting to don feminine clothes, to the older son longing for another transvestite adventure, to the daughter yearning to be a singer whose voice destroys the saints of the church, to the younger son wanting to stab everyone dead. 2) "Game of Mirrors": Two young classmates kiss on a picnic, but the girl's brother accuses the couple of being immoral; bizarre things develop. 3) "Tetrahedron": A very fat man faces his girlfriend's longing for love.

On stormy night in an ugly urban landscape, Ciro Norte, a scientist with wild hair and thick glasses, straps himself to a chair he's has fashioned with wires: lightening strikes, convulsing him. It seems his experiment has not worked. The next day, he drives his jalopy to a bar, sits alone, and weeps. But suddenly, a vortex sucks him into a dream state where he wanders, escapes man-eating fish, confronts his doppelganger, walks through a field of giant flowers, and comes upon Venus herself, buried up to her shoulders in sand. She is a giant, and she takes him to her breast. He wakes from the vortex, back in the bar, his mood transformed.

At the Eiffel Tower, a beautiful young woman catches the eye of the brutish Raspodun. He exclaims that he loves her and will prove it by using his strength to topple the tower. This alarms a group of bystanders, who engage in a pushing contest with him. Meanwhile, a dashing gentleman wins the girl's affection with a magic trick.
