- 1st Street is a curious neighborhood untouched by the aids of modern living like proper plumbing and Internet. Pilje cruises into 1st Street with the intention to drive out its inhabitants and make way for a huge redevelopment project. As soon as he gets there, his plans start to unravel. He meets Myeongnan, a female boxer with the dream of becoming an East Asian boxing champion, and a host of colorful characters who turn his life upside down. Myeongnan works hard to attain her dream, training constantly and doing most of her talking with her fists. Myeongnan and Pilje clash, and he often finds himself on the receiving end of her ferocious punches. Instead of shunning the outsider, Myeongnan and the rest of the villagers warm to him. He is even thought of as Superman by the children of 1st Street after he enables the village's water supply and performs roof repairs. Pilje is drawn to these colorful misfits and begins to rethink his plans to destroy the zany town that they love.

He asks Pal-bong, the neighborhood closet philosopher, for an advice but he's too busy trying to figure out his own love trouble. Finally, Yeo-min confesses his love to Woo-rim through an anonymous letter. Unfortunately, the letter ends up in his teacher's possession and he has to bear the embarrassment of reading it out loud in front of his classmates. Everything starts to get tangled up into a big mess and when things can't get any worse, he gets accused for stealing Woo-rim's money. Everything seems to go out of his control and it seems like he's getting close to the end of his rope... School, love, friendship and his family... Can Yeo-min overcome all the obstacles and safely pass through the ninth year of his life?

It's a pitiful site to see that he finally is forced out of his "dream house" and has to spend the night at a motel all because of a ghost that won't let him stay. Finally, with true determination, he decides to make a stand and declares an all out war against the 'ghost'

Infuriated Tae-woong quickly gains control over the situation. And soon after the incident, he starts to work for the Myungdong Gang as a bouncer at their best nightclub 'Miami'. Around the same time, Hae-ok is transferred to a nearby school as a teacher and the two start to get more drawn to each other. In the mean time, the war between the Myungdong Gang and its rival Jaeryong Gang is ever escalating and ultimately, the Myungdong Gang collapses by a conspiracy set up by the Liberal Party, who supports the Jaeryong Gang. Even in the midst of the bloody demonstration of the Student Revolution in April 1960, Tae-woong goes around collecting debts from former politicians to earn a living. And finally after series of defeats, PARK Il-won gets elected to the National Assembly. Happiness doesn't last forever... After promising her father that she'll turn Tae-woong into an honest living man, Hae-ok and Tae-woong are married with her father consent. The happy days continue with Hae-ok's pregnancy of their first child.
