Kotone survives this through her wiles. But why was she set up?

When a new employee from a well-off family begins working for the first she had understood that she is walking into a fabulous working environment. This is what they call a 'white company.' Instead, she is in for a rude shock when the employer turns out to be a 'black company,' which is one with a negative environment, a rude boss, problematic co-workers, abuse and low pay. The employee's father runs a company that happens to go broke. She herself is not a model employee exactly however.

Yosuke Shintani left his hometown right after his high school graduation. He wanted to leave behind memories of his older brother who died in an accident and a teacher who was bad to the students. Now, Yosuke is back in his hometown due to a personnel transfer at his work. He decides to attend a school reunion and meets three friends from his high school days. Yosuke and the three friends kidnap their ex-teacher who punished the students with physical force. They beat him up and leave him there. Yosuke and his three friends thought it was a joke, but the teacher is found dead the next day.

Nakaido and Majima are a cop and a prosecutor respectively in the city of Yokohama just south of Tokyo. They have regional responsibilities. Nakaido is a hard-nosed cops who employs ruthless procedure to his work. He works hard. Majima drives hard to get maximum sentences and , in his mind, exact a degree of revenge. The two strive for one goal, which is do the right thing for their offices, the victims and prevention of future crimes.
