Bella excitedly tells Dean about her exhibition but is disappointed when Emmett cuts their meeting short to hook up with Mackenzie. Alf is working alone with Tane at the gym and Roo ends up cutting back on her hours at the school to help him. Nikau shows Bella the appetite suppressors and ignores Mia and Ari's advice on a sensible training regime and refuelling, lying in order to skip meals. Dean warns Emmett not to mess Bella about and tells Mackenzie not to mess things up to her, but even though Emmett meets Bella to discuss the exhibition, they head off afterwards.

Tane tries to convince Nikau there aren't any shortcuts in body building but Nikau ignores his advice and exercises in his room. Alf gives Roo some pointers on running the bait shop but is happy for her to remain in charge. Leah thinks Justin is back to his old self and advises Ziggy to talk to him, but in fact he is still taking deliveries of medication he bought online and tells Ziggy her work wasn't up to it. Leah and John decide to respond to Susie's text and it is decided John will meet her with Leah and Stephen waiting nearby.

Dean continues to have difficulties with Mackenzie: He is due to have Jai to stay but Mackenzie is still inviting random men back so instead he arranges to look after him at Amber's. He asks Ari to keep an eye on her but she gives him short shrift. John, Leah and Stephen turn up for the meeting but Susie doesn't show, then sends John a text saying it was meant to be just the two of them. Chloe has a hangover but Ryder thinks she is pregnant on finding a test. She explains it isn't hers, which Ari overhears. Justin continues to be up and down and Leah finds him unconscious at the garage.

Ari gets Mia to take the test but it comes back negative. Chloe fills Ryder in on Mia's miscarriages and Kuari and tells Ari and Mia that she's worried it will break up their family again but agrees to them continuing to try. Justin is brought into hospital and Tori quickly realises he's taken something. Alf and Leah find Justin's pills and Tori berates him but Justin continues to insist he isn't an addict. When Tori tries to force the issue, Justin says he doesn't want her as his doctor.

Christian is escorting Rachel round the hospital when he finds Justin there. Leah, Tori and Christian try to talk Justin out of leaving.He collapses and agrees to see a pain specialist. Christian offers to keep an eye on him overnight but instead ends up in Rachel's room, with Justin disappearing in the morning. Mia is disturbed by Chloe's doubts so Ari makes arrangements with Jasmine to take her for a bike ride. Alf and Leah track Justin down and returns him to hospital. Tori snaps at Rachel and tries to question Christian, who fails to respond.

Ryder and Chloe worry about the lack of business. Tori and Christian try to talk things over but Tori is hurt by Christian's bond with Rachel while Christian feels she doesn't understand how he's been affected. He decides to move out so they can both focus on things. Alf and Roo make plans to go to Martha's family planning meeting. Nikau asks Allegra for help with his socials and she brings Sienna along, where they make plans for a party. Bella and Emmett's attempts to plan their exhibition are disrupted and Nikau wants Bella to put the planning on hold to support him. Nikau asks Chloe and Ryder to cater and Chloe dismisses Bella's fears Nikau is changing for the worse. Sienna overhears Bella telling Nikau he's focusing on things that are superficial.

Ziggy and Tane meet up with Ari and Mia on their return to town. Dean also returns but fails to talk to Mackenzie. Ari and Mia walk in on Nikau's party and agree to let it continue, while Bella and Emmett use the opportunity to take photos, although Bella is unhappy to see Nikau with Allegra. Mackenzie overhears Tane talking about the party and gatecrashes it, throwing herself at Emmett. Ziggy tells Dean about losing her job. Bella calls him to the party and he and Ari tell Mackenzie to leave. Dean tries to get her to talk to him.

Ziggy decides to go and check on Mackenzie but just gets more abuse. Stephen gets John to admit he is still texting Susie and tries to get him to go to the police. Justin is sent home from hospital but Leah is in charge of giving him his pain medication. Leah tells Ziggy what's going on and she goes back to work at the garage. Justin turns the house upside down looking for his pills then tries to get them off Leah, who ends up shutting herself away in the bedroom while he begs for them. Mackenzie sees a video of her being thrown out of the party and feels ashamed. She talks things over with Dean but next morning he finds her missing.

Dean asks Alf and Roo if they've seen Mackenzie, then gets Jasmine looking for her. Stephen enlists Leah's help to get John to go to the police. Justin says he'll go to the gym, where Jasmine keeps an eye on him, but manages to slip away from her and order more pills. Stephen suggests he go to the police with John. Alf and Roo bring Martha home but Roo remains concerned they might not be able to cope. She later tells Marilyn that Kieran's lawyers have rung her saying he wants to speak to her.

Bella takes photographs of Nikau on the beach. They meet with Emmett but Nikau is called away by Sienna and Allegra to pose with donated items. Roo learns Kieran has completed his rehab and counselling and needs somewhere to stay in order to be released. She tries to talk to Alf but he shuts the subject down. Dean and Jasmine continue to look for Mackenzie. When there's still no sign of her the next morning, Dean reports her missing to Murray. Nikau suggests to Sienna that he uses his socials to advertise the exhibition. Instead, Sienna tells Bella she can't use photos of Nikau without paying a fee.

Bella and Emmett try to protest with Sienna but she sticks to her guns and later tells Nikau she's arranging an international contract for him in Japan. Bella tries to do replacement photographs but her heart isn't in it. Nikau tells Sienna he'll take the contract if she gives Bella permission to use the photos. Martha overhears Alf and Roo discussing Kieran and is annoyed they kept it from her, but eventually accepts she's not up to dealing with him and heads to Merimbula with Alf. Rachel hangs around emergency hoping to bump into Christian, who later has to help her with a panic attack. He decides to take her out for the day, prompting Jasmine to call Tori.

Christian takes Rachel down to the beach, upsetting Tori when she sees them. Tori and Leah are trying to keep an eye on Justin but he manages to slip away and tells Ziggy not to touch an order at the garage. Christian and Rachel run into Tori who Christian later meets up with but when he won't commit to a new wedding date she calls things off. Ziggy discovers the orders is more online pills and keeps them from Justin, alerting Leah and Tori. Stephen breaks up a row between Justin and Leah and Justin later sees them hugging. Justin follows Stephen and attacks him.
